What day this week are some of you expecting a decision on John Emery’s status?

His attorney will submit the other docs that NCAA requested on Monday. So they will probably review and then either have another hearing or just base the decision on supplemental provided docs. Should know by midweek if NCAA is actually actively working on the case…. Latest by Friday.

I just don't see him making a difference with how poorly this O line run blocks.

He can 100% make an impact on offense for many reasons. He is way more slippery than TDP. TDP is not going to create for himself. Not bashing him whatsoever but he does not have that capability. Emery has that capability. Sick of seeing TDP 1 yard and a cloud of dust.

He’ll be back soon like next week. Seen he stated on Snapchat Saturday following the game.

If he can help pick up a rush then at least we dont have to solely use #3 all the time. Emery has speed and seems to be a better option catching out of the backfield if that play even exists in our playbook anymore.

Oh, well if he created a snap chat then that is a sure sign he's coming back.

He, Goodwin and Kiner are all a little quicker to the hole than TDP. We also have seen that Kiner has better vision.

They all help with a struggling line because they can hit any momentary creases faster and get to the second level. Also, Emery and Goodwin have the speed to get to the edge and get loose, which the other backs really don’t. We’re not talking about massive improvement, but it’s the kind of thing that can turn a 1-2 yard gain into 3-4, which actually help you sustain drives and get you a big play on the edge of the blocking lines up right, as we saw vs Bama last year.

In light of all this, O’s refusal to reduce TDP’s touches is concerning and just comes off as stubbornness.

How do you know the Frosh are 100% up on the playbook?

Faster, yes

His biggest issue has been vision IMO. Hes also a long strider, so quickness might not be in his favor.

Some ncaa pencil neck is sticking out his chest to his girlfriend and saying, “yeah, he won’t get back in till I say he gets back in.” And his girlfriend is swooning over his power.

Exactly. And they have to know what to do when the ball isn't handed to them, like pick up a blitz etc. It took Fournette until the end of his freshman year to get it all together.

I know it’s the eye of the beholder and the scheme may be more complex than it looks, but have you seen anything exotic in our run game? The most complicated looking, long-developing lateral run last week was run by Goodwin. Most of the runs are far more simple than that.

If the freshmen really aren’t ready, then that’s all the more reason for Emery to get time if he comes back.

To be honest, I would give carries to Williams over TDP right now. He pass blocks on a lot of third down plays, has shown he can catch out of the backfield, and he’s quicker and seems to have better vision than TDP. He may not be a better overall player, but I think he’s a better fit for our situation.

He just has not panned out yet, but having a credible O-line would help him.

Coach O said he's been running with the 1st team at practices and will be starting if cleared.

That's encouraging to hear, regardless if the O line can block. TDP needs to get back to 100% before taking another tackle for a loss this season.
