Dam looking back on his injury this was HUGE. You could tell the blocking went downhill ever since he was out. With the type of offense we run you have to have an elite fullback, and we have been missing that badly.

Any chance this guy will be healthy for our bowl game?

yeah Mouton just isn't a good lead blocker.

Really athletic, but he hits the hole and then stops.

Thats pretty much the opposite of what he is supposed to do.

no team with so much skill talent depends so much on a walk-on FB and a glorified OL playing TE.

nah, it's already been said he's out for the year. I'm wondering the true extent of his injury. was it a torn ACL? you know Les has a way of keeping things under wraps for the most part.

Mouton's been blocking better of late. I think he'll be good with time.

Not ready to give up on Mouton as a FB. Keep in mind, he spent his HS career at TE where he normally had a guy in his face to block. He is still adjusting to having to block guys on the run or in the open field.

Yes, I agree. Loosing him and Dillon Gordon in the same stretch really hurt us offensively. Any good RB needs good blockers. Would have made a difference against Arky and OM too, IMO.

Mouton is young, too. He'll grow into it, but the loss of JDM was huge.

ppl kept running this thing about how losing Gordon hurt, but he really didn't play that much this year. a couple times he went out pretty early in the game. not saying he wouldn't have helped down the stretch, but I thought Jeter and Moreau did pretty well blocking. JDM's injury was the killer.

wait til we get Moreau Moffitized, baws.

What does it say about your offense when it goes to shite after a walk on fb gets hurt?

both of them were injured catching passes. makes sense with the lack of talent at all the other skill positions.

I was watching some of LF7 highlights yesterday and the best ones had JDM leading him into the holes and either blasting a DB or pancaking an LB. Huge loss!!!

You may joke about it, but I think that is exactly what happened. When we had to rely on a true freshman FB who was a receiving TE last year in high school, it took away a major part of our offense

Plus the fact that we also lost Gordon 3 games in who was like a 3rd tackle, was also major for us.

I realize now that that is more devastating than we all realize because most of our offense runs through that. Then when the freshman guards and 6'7 center had to go against the big and better DLs in the conference, they were exposed.

Random question. Gordon is a senior so is he able to apply for a medical redshirt?

He should and I was thinking about this a few days ago. LSU will be heavily experienced everywhere but LB.

You think? You saw how fast he crumbled? He was rushed back way to fast and that in itself should tell everyone how important he was to the running game. People saying dumb shite like, "If a FB meant that much to our offense", again is dumb!!

Go back and look at great running backs in college and NFL history the majority had great lead blockers!

How about we go forward and modernize the offense to fit our skill set?
