BATON ROUGE – Former LSU coach John Brady will join “Voice of the Tigers” Chris Blair on LSU men’s basketball broadcasts this coming season on the LSU Sports Radio Network. The announcement was made Friday by Ward Wyatt, General Manager of LSU Sports Properties. “We are excited to be able to put Chris Blair and John Brady together this season on our network and as our program enters its new era under Coach Will Wade we look forward to not only exciting basketball, but entertaining broadcasts,” said Wyatt. Brady retired from coaching following the 2015-16 serving as head coach at Samford for six years (1991-97), LSU for 11 seasons (1997-08), and, Arkansas State for eight (2008-16). He closed out his coaching career with 402 wins, including 192 at LSU. The Tigers under Brady won the SEC in 2000 and posted a 28-6 mark en route to the NCAA Sweet 16. The team won the SEC West in 2005 and captured the league title in 2006 with a 14-2 record. The 2006 team became known as Louisiana’s team in the months after Hurricane Katrina hit the New Orleans area and featured a starting lineup of three kids from Baton Rouge (Garrett Temple, Glen Davis, Tyrus Thomas), one from Denham Springs (Tasmin Mitchell) and one from St. Martinsville (Darrel Mitchell). The five had played together since they were kids and in the process would beat No. 1 Duke and Texas to go to LSU’s first Final Four in 20 years with a 27-9 record. "I am extremely excited about joining Chris Blair and the LSU basketball broadcast team for this season,” Brady said. “Our goal will be to provide our listeners with a mental picture of what the team is trying to accomplish during the course of the game. Coach Wade has put together a tremendous staff and the changes he has made within the team coupled with the recruiting to this point should have every Tiger basketball fan excited about what is about to take place. I am appreciative of Chris Blair, LSU Sports Properties and the athletic department for this opportunity. I am looking forward to the upcoming basketball season.” With Brady joining the LSU broadcasts, it will put two former Final Four coaches on the microphone for SEC radio broadcasts as former Mississippi State Coach Richard Williams is expected to continue his role as basketball analyst again this season for the Bulldogs. Blair will be calling his second season of LSU Basketball since taking over as “Voice of the Tigers” for LSU football, basketball and baseball. “We could not be more thrilled to have Coach Brady joining our broadcast team,” Blair said. “As a coach, he competed at the highest level in collegiate basketball and his wealth of knowledge and understanding of the game will be a big benefit to Tiger fans listening on the radio and to me sitting courtside. I really think the fans will love hearing him as well as seeing him at the Maravich Center for each game.”

This just feels weird.

Like an ex-girlfriend being a bridesmaid in your wedding or something.

Not trying to be mean at all but often someone will have a eye like that after a stroke or Bell Palsy. Has Brady had any health issues?

I like this

Pretty much the only thing I enjoy about Jordy and T-bob is John Brady coming on every week and talking basketball

Dude did some great things for the school and was a huge a-hole(which he's acknowledged) but I'm glad he's back

I don't mind that. I never disliked Brady, just felt he got lazy after success and was inconsistent. He took over a shite show and won the SEC in three years. Those '00 and '06 teams were VERY fun and memorable. I think the guy genuinely loves and misses LSU and will stay as long as he does a good job.
