In the season's last 6 games:
Burrow was 109 of 180, 60.5% 6 TD's 2 INTs And Burrow faced Georgia, Bama, Miss St, and A&M - 4 ranked teams.

And against Texas A&M, Burrow was 25 of 38 for 65.8% - 3 TDs no INTs.

Takes time for QBs to gain chemistry with a new offense, and with new WRs. The future looks bright for LSU, Joe Burrow and the passing game.

Glad to see you made a positive Burrow thread, without shitting on other LSU players.

WR drops have always been an OC and WR coaching problem, IMO.

Surprised he made a positive Burrow thread without telling us how #JeauxCool is better than Haskins.

Now he gets a spring and summer to work with all those wide receivers returning.

6 TD's 3 INTs

This is just not a good stat, especially since one of those TDs came in OT where you get to start at your own 25.

Lots of things to be positive about next season. But your QB having a 1.6/1 TD/int ratio (5/3) over six games is certainly not one of them. It's actually fricking terrible.

I never understood the purpose of the TD to INT ratio since the two events typically happen under completely different game situations. Especially when you have a run first red-zone offense. Seems like INTs per attempt would be a much more indicative stat for a QBs success.

If Kelly Bryant, Jalen Hurts, and Jacob Easton all got dethroned after having much better seasons than Burrow did and 2 of them making it to the playoffs, I would sincerely hope that LSU is going to have a real QB competition next year regardless of who the QB was this year.

If they don't, then that just goes to show that we are still stuck in old and outdated coaching philosophies.

Burrow played all, year with a below average line. A very inexperienced WR position group. Burrow is the biggest reason we were 9 and 3 instead ofm6 and 6 or 7 and 5.

We are literally the only team that uses experience as a freaking excuse. Bama won the natty with a pass from a true freshman to a true freshman. Bama and Clemson literally just replaced "experienced QBs" with younger QBs. UGA did the year before. Bama has sophomores everywhere and still has freshman starting this year.

We HAVE to stop using experience as an excuse. It would be a BETTER sign to see some of this recruiting class starting OVER the "inexperienced..." because that means we've upgraded.

First, he had 6 TDs and 2 INTs - my typo - corrected it. And ALL TDs count. Especially ones in overtime in hard-fought battles.

And Burrow had a 3:1 TD to INT ratio. Damn good in any league. Again, Georgia, Alabama, Miss St, and Texas A&M were in that 6 game stretch.

You are taking major exceptions and applying them as the rule. Bama has been the best program this decade and has an elite passer for the first time the entire decade. It's not every day a kid comes in at 18 and is as poised as Tua and Trevor Lawrence are. Look at Fields - he's all world out of high school and is now transferring.

We have to play with what we got. We have Burrow and Myles. Burrow did get better as the season progressed. And there is reason for optimism. The "rule" in QB is that a player takes time to get comfortable with his team and with the scheme. We started seeing that with Joe. I'm fully expecting Burrow to have a solid year next year.

But you don't run a program banking on the exceptions to the rule.

Those three situations are not similar to what is happening at LSU.

Kelly Bryant and Jalen Hurts were both average at best passing quarterbacks that got dethroned by two future 1st round quarterbacks. Lawrence and Tua could both be the first overall picks in the draft. There was no qb competition going into the season last year at Bama. One blossomed throughout the course of the season but If Jalen Hurts wasn’t absolutely horrible at passing the ball last year in the national championship game there is a good chance Tua isn’t at Bama right now.

Jacob Easton got hurt and Fromm came in and played half the season last year.

He had a minimum of three drops per game in that period. More in the first half of the season. Just before the season started. Rohan Davy gave his view on Burrow upside and rate of development. He was very accurate with a second half uptick. Rohan expected 2019 to be a very good year for Burrow
