Here's the second half of Burrow's season. Missing State game because I couldn't find it anywhere.

Is this when we frequently ran max protect, because I couldn't find hardly any such formations in the first half of the season?

Watching the plays from the Bama game was not enjoyable. And boy did we suck in the red zone.

The play calling wasn't great but burrow was slinging that ball with incredible poise and accuracy. He can't help that the alabama defense played flawless. Burrow was hit on almost every play. And the Alabama secondary batted or tackled away the ball on nearly every pass that touched a receivers hand. Burrow did incredible from a mechanic s standpoint in that game. Drew Brees couldn't have won that game for LSU ..

He turned it on in the second half of the season. Bodes well for this season.

The protection was fairly good in the first quarter to mid-way through the 2nd quarter.

It got bad quick though.

I think that’s the first time I watched that many plays from the Bama game since that night I was in the stadium.

When Burrow had time he looked pretty good. Fit the ball in some tight windows. He also escaped and showed some elusiveness sometimes. He had that deep ball to Jefferson early in the first quarter and that was definitely pass interference.

I couldn't even make it passed the bama game. God that sucked

I thought that he looked pretty good against Bama. On that first batted ball, the receiver had a clear shot to the end zone.

Bama DBs were on point and we had a case of the drops.

There was a couple plays on that first drive that could have been big. The one batted at the line the receiver was open on a deep slant and the shot play to Jefferson. LSU probably still loses but you hit one of them and get some points on that drive the game could be completely different.

I think if LSU comes out and takes the lead against Bama this year early and just exhale then it’s anyone’s ballgame.

I counted at least 5 times that we could have scored TD’s so we moved the ball and it looked to me that Steve E was trying everything. We moved the ball, we just couldn’t put it in the EZ.

We can beat this team. Even though people make a big deal or the shutouts, we have been in every single game late in the 2nd half’s. That was one of the best games Bama has played against us in a while. Those officials also let them get mighty physical with our WRs while the ball is in the air also. I saw a few PI calls that could have easily been called and weren’t.

I think the team has a much better idea of what it will take to beat that team and we will play a much much better game this year. This should be a fun year.

Biggest thing that stood out to me is Burrow's deep ball accuracy. Down the stretch last season he was regularly hitting go routes down the sideline.

the oline was just never consistently good last season and was downright atrocious against bama. when burrow has time to throw, he is excellent, even in the 1st q against bama. he consistently put the ball into small windows all season. if lsu does run some rpo and is even halfway effective, the offense is going to really shine.

he's also an underrated runner.

way too many drops last season.

you also couldnt find a 4 or 5 wide set from Canada when it's in the 1st series against Clemson in 2016. you're not good at recognizing sets.

you have to wonder why our OC never once moved the pocket.

you have to wonder why our OC was allergic to quick passes with 4 & 5 wide formations.

you have to wonder why we couldnt run a screen pass to save our lives

you have to wonder why our staff was still putting Burrow under center making it harder to go through his progressions while dropping.

you have to wonder why we didnt motion out of the back field

you have to wonder why we didnt spread more teams out instead of allowing more teams to bring more defenders around our struggling line
