Jimmy Ott "It's a rivalry because LSU has the most players in the NFL

Today on 104.5, Hannigriff sort of agreed with Ott that even though Alabama has won six in a row and LSU hasn't been competitive for most of their meetings, it's still a rivalry game because LSU has the most talent playing in the NFL every year.
I have to agree, regardless of past outcomes, it's still the best players in college football facing off Saturday.

You can't really say that, just because LSU is young and has many unknown players doesn't mean there's not loads of talent.
Just look at LSU's great linebacker Delvin on defense for example, one of the best in the country yet didn't make any All America teams. They will all be known soon.

a lot of the rivalry has had to do w usually being the 2 top teams in the West, thus, the winner almost automatically would go to the SEC Championship game

All games in BR were competitive. We damn sure should have won in 2012 and 2014 and it was 0-0 going into the 4th last year.

I agree it's a rivalry because no other teams compare with the NFL talent on both of these teams.
