Jimbo

Pro: Recruiting
Con: Offense is archaic at this point.

Herman
Pro: RPO master, quarterback system is easy, recruiting (he's gotten some 5 stars to commit to Houston. Keeps it light with random stuff at practice.

Con: young and untested for the SEC schedule. Unproven at a consistent level.

If you have anything to add please do.

there are no pros for Jimbo. Herman has been recruiting his arse off for a school like Houston.

I would take Dan Mullens over Jimbo.

Herman

Con: young

that's actually a plus.

Jimbo's offense isn't really archaic. He has run some modern stuff at FSU.

The ship has sailed on jimbo, and I'm not really sad about it. I think Herman is the better option

That archaic offense produced 4 first round quarterbacks.

Herman likely gone in 3-5 years if successful. He's got a higher ceiling, but Jimbo would be a lifer. And I don't know where you're getting this "archaic" offense stuff. Is Saban's offense archaic? I'll take it in a heartbeat.

Definitely a win-win

Jimbo has recruited equal to Les w much more competition. He has identified, signed, and developed 4 of the last 13 NC winning QBs. Mauck, Flynn, Winston, and Coker. Throw in JR as a No.1 overall pick too if you want. And turning that kid with his lack of work ethic into the winner he was in college is probably his most incredible achievement.

Jimbo isn't allowed enough money for assts at FSU. He wouldn't have those issues here, and would be able to probably field a better defense. He is well liked and known by all the high school coaches that are LSU stomping grounds.

Herman is an obviously great choice. You covered that well. Not sure about kissing the cheeks of all the players prior to the game, but can't argue with his results.

Jimbo pros: he's familiar with LSU/La. And he's a qb whisperer.

If Herman is successful enough that (likely) an NFL team comes and takes him away in 3-5 years then you take that bargain every time. That means LSU most likely wins a NC and reaches at least one other CFP. If Jimbo comes to LSU and sustains his success at that level, the NFL may come for him also.

I hear it's an 8 million dollar pay increase for him if this is the case.

Agreed. I remember the fear of dinardo going back to Notre dame or miles back to Michigan. Lsu would have been fortunate for either to be successful enough to be in that position.

so what does that matter? LSU's offense has produced a bunch of NFL WR's. Les Miles LSU teams have produced a ton of NFL talent at a lot of positions. So what

Those of you knocking Jimbo are the same types of idiots the pumpers call "spoiled and entitled". His last three quarterbacks have been drafted in the FIRST ROUND of the NFL draft, he has a Heisman candidate at RB, and you call his offense "archaic"? Y'all are freaking insane.
