The only thing I would base off of this video, is that those who are basing things off this video are fricking off base.

frick.

It's like a :30 clip, you dolts!

I'm having trouble seeing why what I say is trash.

Your entire post was blatantly putting down Lee in favor of Jefferson. This is trash in my book.

quote:

Did I say ANYWHERE that Jefferson was solely responsible for bringing us back against Troy State? NO.

No, but it's easy to sort out your opinion by what you post. You implied that it was all Lee's fault we were down 31-3, and statements like "before JJ punched it in the end zone" imply that Jefferson brought us back. I was pointing out that that is incorrect.
quote:

JJ isn't lighting the world on fire, but that was somewhat expected given the situation.

My point is that you can insert "JL" for "JJ" in that statement, but nobody seemed to. You didn't feel the need to point out that JL wasn't expected to do great given the circumstances he was put into in your first post.

quote:

Lee was in a tough situation as well.

Of course you agree once it's brought to your attention in the thread, but you didn't mention it first because...
quote:

I'm just stating obvious details to support my stance.

And all I did was give the opposite view, man

What was the total number of pass attempts for each. Also, what was our ranking on total offense in 2008? We all know where we were last year.

After watching this video with an open mind, and unbiased approach I can come to certain conclusions:

1) All QB's are doing a good job getting the ball out of their hands. . .in practice.

2) Only 3 passes hit the WR in stride. . .and 2 were from Zach Lee (one from JL on the short posts). WR's had to adjust their routes for all passes on the deep routes, except for 2 thrown by Zach. . .in practice.
I thought the video was from today's practice, no? Fairly certain Zach Lee didn't hit anyone in stride today at the LSU practice facility.

4B) JJ: If this kid develops a modicum of pocket presence and internal timing, he could end up an an All-SEC team. Kid has scary tools, he has just been poorly coached.

I'm all for JJ being the QB and I think he'll have a much better year...but I don't think any of his tools are "scary". He is a serviceable, athletic QB and he's a competitor, which is great for the team.

This. Although he is pretty good at throwing while rolling out...maybe even scary good at it. But last season, it was very rare to see it. It's like they told him to stay in the pocket, and he doesn't know how to. I say let him play to his strengths.

And each and every 30 second clip I see of JJ in practice this year he is inaccurate, just like all last year and in the spring game. short, behind, long etc..never in stride, never on target, not really ever...

Everyone knows that the real passer on the team is JL....but he has confidence issues during a live game... Can he over come that?

If JL every gets the opportunity and has success, LSU football will be fun and legit again..

JJ is 8-5 all day long...based on all the practice videos I can see, he just doesn't impress me..His mechanics are too long and thus inaccurate...Look at Marino's release if you want to see what it should look like..

I am usually very optimistic and positive, but JJ just isn't very good passing the football. We can't run the option, so why does he start? I really want to understand... I can't see development at all other than he looks bigger and stronger

I think he starts because he can escape trouble much better than JL...He certainly isn't starting because he has a stronger or more accurate arm.

JL is the best chance we got...we must have a legit deep ball threat..otherwise, teams will fill the box

Did they put Shep in the green jersey for no contact or for performing some QB duties at practice?

Injured hip, thus "dragging arse" out of his breaks. And Shep never wears a green jersey, whether he is at QB or not. Not even in the spring games.

Well the video looks no different than what we saw during the spring game and all of last year. So why should I believe everything is ok and "It is only a :30 second clip"?

In saying that I am very excited to see our defense this year along with our skill guys. If LSU gets "just good" QB play they are going to be tough to beat.

My point was directed at those that are SPECIFICALLY basing opinions off of THAT ONE clip.

I'm not arguing that one is more accurate than the other.

I don't care.

I just find it amusing that SOME, not all, are forming opinions off of THAT clip.

If you want to think that JJ is inaccurate based off of the last two years, then fine...that is your Bobby Brown.

I am not going to take up for JL and say he should be starting either. JL had his chance last year against LA Tech and stunk. I know he has the better arm but that means nothing if you can't do it on Saturdays. So I would have to go with JJ at least to start the season...
