Is thatcher going to be our Friday guy next year?

I didn't agree with the decision but you are right.

I think he just over played the matchup vs Oregon St’s Wholestaff. Thank goodness for thatcher Hurd

This seems like circular logic but I’m pretty stupid

Yes, thank goodness Hurd was available today because he didn’t pitch vs Tulane.
I feel like you are reaching so far down to find a reason to critique the skenes decision that you have lost yourself. There is no objective way to say it was the worst decision ever or the best decision ever. Probably a good decision that turned into a perfect decision with a little luck.

Dude it's unreal how people have zero ability to simply say they may have been wrong. I'm finding that the same people arguing that decision with me are same ones that used to get the pissed when I wanted Les miles fired.

Johnson: I should save the pen for later games

Hurd: yo what up

Lester: he’s lucky that the pen performed in later games

Nah, I am very content right now and just carrying on the conversation. I feel the exact same way I did when it was announced on Friday not sure how that can be considered reaching

It didn’t payoff so much as the rain delay made it a moot point. Flip flop Floyd and Skenes and the results are likely the same.

Right. So everything worked out.

But there are posters who were ADAMANT that it was the 100% wrong call to go with Skenes on Friday. Lol

He could have planned to start Skenes vs Org St and it still saves the pen

And your logic is poor considering Hurd was the GM3 starter and only threw tonight because of the rain delay.

I guess that is the ultimate pen saving move

Better to be lucky than good. It was NOT a good decision but luck is part of the game.

Pitching wise, we are in really good shape. I think Ty has an inning in him if needed tomorrow.

Only Hurd and Skenes are definitively out.

It might have been, but it’s ridiculous to argue the point either way now that it is irrelevant.

Not arguing with you. Just saying they there are posters who will still argue the move

I don’t see how it plays out just as good if Floyd starts Friday. He’s not going 9, so do we burn Hurd there? If not, we use at least 1-2 BP arms.

Skenes goes today, goes 3, then what? I don’t see a scenario where we use fewer arms than the way this played out.

If Floyd gives you 7 and you are up big, it doesn’t matter who they put in.

He probably could have gotten through 5. And they bring Hurd in again if it’s close

Anyway, Can’t judge it in hindsight. That is not what I’m talking about

Understood. I was basically agreeing with you and only pointing out that the other side of the argument is also being ridiculous carrying on with this now.

What if Hurd goes out against Tulane and gives a similar performance? Aren’t we in the exact same spot?

Uh Hurd didn’t start. So if we did the same thing against Tulane we go through two pitchers and then Skenes, rain delay, and two more pitchers. We would be sitting here having used four pitchers versus three with Skenes throwing two innings.

I feel like you if lose Skenes due to a delay it would be deflating.

That is exactly what happened at SC. Although it was bush league what they did with the tarp
