I have searched and searched and can't find any updates on him. Did he make his decision?

Anyone think he stays? I think he gives it one more shot. Unless he get hurt, he can only go higher in the draft by staying another season and putting up similar numbers as he has done the last two seasons as a starter

Unlike position players pitchers particularly LHP taken that low can greatly increase his value w another strong season . I know he has a # (4th round bonus) and if he gets it he will sign .

If he gets $250k he's gone. If not, he's coming back.

Regardless of position, seniors get low balled like a motherfrick in the MLB draft

Not as much with pitchers, especially lefties

You got data to back that up?

Don't feel like looking it up but if he has a great year and goes first round, like a couple of sites had him projected before or right at the start of the season, he's gonna get paid. But on the other hand if he has a season like this one, up and down, then I guess he should have left. If he pitches all year like he finished this season, he will have made the right choice in coming back. Could EASILLY pitch his way to a first rounder. Also should or could have the hitting to have a really good record next year.

I can't see him going 1st round. He's not at that level, IMO.

As for LHP being immune to getting low balled as seniors, you're wrong. Just ask Ryan Hartman, Astros 9th round pick. The slot value for that pick was like $165,000. He got $10,000.

ETA: For good measure
8th Rd pick Taylor Hyssong, slot value = $184,000, actualy signing bonus = $10,000
8th Rd pick Ty Culbreth, slot = $183,500, actual bonus = $20,000
8th rd pick Will Gilbert, slot value = $182,900, actual bonus = $75,000
Andy Cox 7th rd, slot value = 231,900, actual bonus = $5,000
Placido Torres, slot value = $175,000, actual bonus $10,000
Blake Fox, slot value = 159,300, actual bonus $10,000
Dylan Lee, Trevor Lane same thing

All LHP's. All seniors

There's the data, you were wrong.

He's probably leaving. Using all the leverage he can right now to get the most out of his bonus. Several guys haven't signed for them and if they don't, that's just more money for Poche. I don't think he's coming back either way unless they give him a ridiculously low number.

I don't think that's correct.

If a player who is eligible for slot money doesn't sign, the team loses that slot money entirely.

If they sign a slotted player for less than the slot money he is eligible for, the "unused" slot money can be given to another player and pay him "over slot."

If I'm wrong, I'm sure I will be corrected shortly...
