3* receiver from Jena, LA (pop. 3,398) has 11 catches for 204 yds in four games, already a key cog of the offense

He’s a 3* though… Burton and Jarrett were 4 and 5*’s

Kid is a stud and stars are jokes. Jenkins can ball.

Jarrett gonna start eating against Big 10 backups while Maryland is losing 50-3... Or not

He's been one of the most reliable. I think he has only dropped 1 maybe 2 balls.

Retard alert. Stars absolutely matter and anyone that says they don't should be ignored. It doesn't mean star ratings are the only thing that matter but they are definitely a big part of it. Burton and Jarrett are 2 years younger than him. I'm sure both will likely be studs. Comparing them to Jenkins is a dumb comparison. That said, I'm glad to have Jenkins and I'm happy he's making an impact.

Small school players get unfairly downgraded by the recruiting services. If he had played at a 5A school in a big market he would have been a 4 star. Fortunately our coaches do more due diligence than some slapdick recruiting analyst.

Hey bud Finley is a 3*. BJ (4*)had a better game than Burch (5*), also better stats for the season. Stars are a joke.

If he stays at Maryland he won't be anything. They were at least competitive when Stefon Diggs was there

The rating system has gotten pretty good, but I agree that too much emphasis gets put into them. Look at TM7, CEH, and Jefferson just as a few. Talent evaluation by coaches means way more than stars do.

Hey bud, let's conveniently go by one game and cherry picking players. Terrace Marshall, Stingley Jr, Arik Gilbert were 5 star players. Did their ranking not matter? Want to break down odds of making it to NFL by star ranking? Hint, 5 Stars make it to the NFL at a much higher rate than 3 stars.

Stars do have good predictive value, but you can find plenty of underrated guys who will overachieve with right coaching/development

2020 NFL Draft: The 'stars don't matter' narrative gets crushed NFL Draft Recruiting Rankings
Go sit down. You're making yourself look like a fool. Of course there are players that play above their ranking but being a high 4 start or 5 star significantly increases your chances of being a great player. It's not even debatable if you understand simple math.

quote:

In fact, a five-star was 10.4 times more likely than a three-star to hear his name called during the 2020 NFL Draft while a four-star was 3.91 more likely than a three-star.
