I think this reasoning is more of a reason he is starting than his play. The kid just worries me as the season is winding down. I hope he can turn it around, but his play yesterday was piss poor

Ibarra was also poor in the field Sunday. LSU played like a tired and sloppy team. Jones was too sick to play Friday then went 16 innings before bouncing back from limited rest to play Sunday. He was likely just benched for poor play caused by being fatigued.

There's no one on the bench that gives you anymore than what you are getting.
You take what you get with JaCoby.
Overall, his defense has been solid all year.
He's capable of winning a game for you as well and does get on hot streaks from time to time.
You ride him out and hope he gets hot for regional time and roll with it.
His mental makeup is what holds him back.
He lets it affect parts of his game but without any other viable options he still gets to play.

He lost focus and just wasn't himself in the field, and was part of at least 2 unearned runs, if I'm remembering right. Thats not him. I know he was sick, at least thats what I hope was going on, but Jacoby is usually money in the field(though sometimes struggles at the plate). Either way, we need him to get it going...

Hopefully PM answers the benching situation tonight. I now he was sick friday and Im sure that probably affected him the rest of the weekend but his play and attitude during the game yesterday was pretty bad and definitely noticeable. Hope he can turn the page and finish the season strong

Jacoby's not going anywhere.

With his lingering illness this past weekend I say we give him the benefit of the doubt for his defense Sunday.

3 hits Saturday also wasn't too shabby.

Edit: Also Yocum, doesn't bring anything to the table that's not already there with Jones.

I agree, just wanted to have the discussion. PM doesnt bench people in the mid of game very much so I was wondering if it was an attitude thing or him still being ill.

His backup is Casey Yocom. His starting spot is not in jeopardy.

this again

Jones was sick over the weekend, it effected his play on Sunday so CPM took him out to avoid more bad plays. Jones wasn't able to focus because he was sick. I'm guessing the 16 inning game brought back the sickness he had on Friday causing him to sit out.

Link please...if he was feeling as bad as he played, he should not have been on the field to begin with.

I hope you are stating this because you heard or read that someone close to the team said this and not because you're just making shite up.
