I did not know Jacob Philips was involved in this? He seems like such a great kid. I know people in Nashville who know him. This seems so out of character from what I have heard about Philips.

Agreed. He graduated high school with my little sister. Met his grandpa and talked for a while in the parking lot about football and life. Amazing family.

Who knows though? Kids make bonehead decisions sometimes, and others are simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hope it isn’t true.

It was literally a one day thing for Philips. TMZ article came out, then the DA released a statement saying they found the accuser not credible. Where they screwed was they didn't report it to Title IX. Philips himself is great.

Unless if there is another story I am missing here.

Sad thing nowadays is you don’t really know what to make of these things. I’ll get downvoted I’m sure..... but for every shite male athlete that is guilty of this stuff..... there’s a conniving bitch who’s making shite up just to get back about smthg. And everybody knows it’s true. The trick is decifering which is which.

The DA threw the case away because the person in question was his ex girlfriend and it was a case where she was obviously a pos liar. Girls who make that shite up deserve the same punishment a guy would get for doing it.

You’re not missing anything. People take bits and pieces of stories and run with it.

fricking TROOF. The problem I have with the whole situation is O trying to cover it up and not reporting it. You report that shite, and let the investigation uncover whether or not she’s a lying, conniving bitch or a real rape victim.

We don't know that Coach O covered anything up. He may have had people run interference.... and maybe folks did it without him having to.

A lot of these cases are tough to figure out but.... several of them, in LSU's case are legit.

The question for O will be... what did he do or what didn't he do?

I don’t know why people assume Orgeron didn’t report anything. The Phillips thing was on TMZ, and got enough publicity to force BRPD to issue a statement. Seems like a bit of a stretch to simply assume Orgeron covered it up at that point. It’s just as likely, if not more, that the university agreed with BRPD that the allegations weren’t credible.

Same with the Drake Davis thing.. people made a big deal out of Davis practicing with the team in the fall, but in that case we know a Title IX investigation was opened months beforehand.

As far as I can tell, the Guice situation is the only one that looks like it might have a real chance of coming back to haunt Orgeron. And hell, even in that case it’s clear that LSU’s Title IX office was aware of allegations.

The compliance department exists to take these matters out of the coaches’ hands. I think a lot of folks are looking for Orgeron to take the blame so that Woodward can fire him with cause - but I don’t see it based on what we know today.

See heres the problem...
Its established he didnt do anything wrong....and yet here this thread sits with people who think he did bc of a false allegation. Thats terrible. And precisely why someone may hestitate to report every single case
