JA deprived Wade of a chance to show us what he could do in the tourney

This is the worst part of JA's recent debacle. Wade proved himself as a recruiter, though that is somewhat tainted if he is found to have engaged in some chicanery.

I was looking forward to watch Wade coach in the tournament - to prove himself as the coach that so many of the posters here fawn over. Now, we'll never know, at least with respect to the result of this particular recruiting class.

Then, I think about how Wade must feel, because he never got to coach his team in the NCAA tourney. I can't imagine having that taken away.

I wish I could say this schtick has run its course, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of angry responses. Good on you brother

Fixed it for you.

Don't worry though, you will watch him lead us to the promised land for plenty years to come.

I don't know how you read that in my post. I thought Wade would do well and might have gotten LSU into the Elite 8. I like Tony Benford and respect what he did under difficult circumstances, but the players clearly thought highly of Wade and his absence hurt the team.

You assume that, because I didn't buy in to the over-the-top Wade hype, that I don't think he's a good coach. I think he is. But, until we see him coach his team against strong teams in the NCAA tourney, it is just speculation.

I would have loved to see him coach in the tournament as well; especially to go up against a coach like Izzo. However, even if LSU were to have gotten knocked out in the same round with Wade coaching, it still would not have diminished Wade's coaching ability in my eyes, or the eyes of many reasonable and knowledgeable fans around here.

Was his leading them to the 2nd round of the NIT in his first year after one of the worst seasons ever for LSU basketball not good enough for you? Or how about winning the SEC in just his 2nd year on the job and going an unprecedented 9-0 on the road in conference play?

It certainly was more than enough for me to show he is not just a great recruiter, but also a great coach. But YOU will certainly not ever admit to that.

The problem is that he has been represented by many here as one of the greatest basketball coaches ever. This is by the same people who bash CPM who has a record of top level results.

All I have ever said is lets see how Wade does at the top level - the tournament. He should have had his chance this year, and would have except for his suspension. I believe he would have done well and it is a travesty that he didn't get a chance to prove it.

The fans here can't demand top year end results for baseball and football, but then say "winning the SEC" is enough.

If Wade land a few key recruits, we could be in the Final 4 next year.

He'll be back in the tourney soon. It is a shame we didn't get to see how far this team could go at full strength. This team was insanely talented.

I don't know if we could have beat M. State even with Wade, but it would have certainly helped. They were completely lost on defense.

I'm just happy we have Wade back. I thought for sure he was gone.
