...feels ok so far. Very low stress over here.

If we go 0-fer in the SEC, hey now, I'm not exactly good with that.

But, if we make the Liberty Bowl and look underwhelming against Baylor or Wake, I'll roll with it and may even buy a t-shirt.

Now... if we get uppity and make the Orange Bowl, requesting a mud-stomping at the hands of, say, Nebraska, I'll consider it a magical year, even if it comes with a loss to Tulane/Troy in there. We ballin'!

If we start talking about being a contender for the MNC, well, I'll know I'm violating my 80s era expectations bubble and will immediately turn back and comply. This is really not even an option.

I think this sums up our proper 80s-like level of "order restored", but feel free to clarify for me.

We’re not there yet. I hope we don’t get there.

I've been gradually getting to where you are at for the last several years. It's really a good place to be because I never get emotionally involved after a loss now. I'm over it one second after the clock hits zero.

Feels exactly like 2000 to me. The soul crushing end of the Dinardo era, followed by a relatively unknown commodity.

And I'm NOT comparing Orgeron to the coach in 2000. Just saying that this is how I felt that year. More and more hopeful as the year went along, but never confident in the future.

Funny cuz when Coach O was interim coach that's exactly the name that came to mind: Stovall. A Louisiana man through and through.

It does feel a lot like then. In the 70s Bama was dominant but with Bear's passing/retirement the cracks started to form in the 80s for teams like LSU and Auburn to land some punches. UGA had a good little run in the early 80s. But LSU was no threat to win a MNC. Entertaining, yes. Puncher's chance, always.

I expect to get a few fun years out of Coach O. Hopefully we can minimize the Troys and have a few more moments to remember. At least they are trying some new stuff on offense.

My first memories of LSU football are from the early 80s. It was a fun time. It was a helluva lot more fun than the Curley years when I was a student at LSU.

Enjoy the ride for now with the good ole baw from Larose. I'll be more stressed about who they replace O with.

Oh, new coach won’t win a natty in his first year? He’s a complete failure and should be fired!

I've gotten this impression too.

We've fired a coach that won a title, and hired someone else.

We didn't hire a guy to win another title, we've hired a guy who makes getting ranked in the final Top 25 poll feel like an accomplishment. Sweet.

We will have a nice little ballclub over the next few years. Liberty Bowl win here, Taxslayer there. Low stress. Nothing to get too high or too low over. The LSU of my youth.

You're a fraud. No one said, "We ballin!" during the Stovall era.
