It's hard to beat a team shooting this well.

Yea, there's definitely some areas LSU needs to tighten up on. However, when a team starts out 12-13, there's not much you can do. Marquette is just on fire right now.

They just missed a 3, 12-14 now.

Waters needs help.

Oh, shite, they just threw up another garbage shot, 12-15. But we gift it back with a travel.

It is not Marquette, it is our defense.

It’s the 2nd game in a row where the opponent has shot lights out. That’s more on the defense. We are very limited at the 4 spot, especially on defense. Teams always shoot better in Maui also

That’s hard to shoot that well regardless

Our D sucks

Too many teams are burning the nets when we play them. Even Samford did.

Wade knows there's a problem, let's see what he does to fix it.

Wade either did not prepare his team at all or he did a really bad job of preparing them. They are making a ton of shots because we are giving them wide open looks. Our offense is also hot garbage outside of 1 player who is literally putting the team and coach on his back in order to prevent another 40 point blowout.

if not for Waters this is a 20 point game AT LEAST right now.

Yea, like I said, we have plenty of things to work on. But, even when a team plays mediocre defense, it's rare a college basketball team will still start off so hot.

I know the Michigan win got people excited. But for people who follow college bball, you'll know Mich is down this year. Also, against ND, we looked tired. They made everything, we played subpar defense and missed everything.

Seems like this is a repeat of last night. We just need to enjoy this ride. This is a roster pieced together. Reinforcements are coming next year.

That's kind of my point, I know our defense has been bad, but it's still rare for a college team to shoot that well.

After our first game, this is something Wade was really worried about, our 3 point defense. He said they left too many wide open 3s, and we're lucky they missed them. We've played 2 teams who won't miss as many.

this hasn't been mediocre defense. it's well below average. it's not a coincidence that two nights in a row teams are exploring LSU through screens and pick and rolls. LSU's rotations are poor right now. which will be fixed over time, it's not on Wade necessarily.

when teams are expecting to get open looks, it's a lot easier to hit them, as opposed to teams facing good defenses where even if they get open shots, they're expecting people in their face. marquette isn't even expecting hands in the face right now.

Definitely. We just had Waters 1 on 1 down low with a big man and no one came to help.

Agreed but they still have to make the shots.

It’s our defense but it isn’t all Wade’s fault. Watching the game, it’s apparent we don’t have any above average athletes other than Waters, Sampson and maybe (maybe) Mays. Rachal, for example, can’t dribble well, almost falls down every play, and can’t elevate. All but the 3 I listed are the same. Even Duop, who’s a good player, doesn’t seem uber athletic. Meanwhile, Marquette has 4 dudes out running, jumping and shooting us. We are going to have to either outwork them or get a little break here and there. Oh. And they’re (Marquette) shooting that well because they’re wide open... Wade warned of this prior to the season starting. We can still win this though!

Good teams are going to make a lot of shots when they’re open. Bad defense has been played he last 2 nights

We start playing a little defense and making some shots, now only down 2 at half.

Great de at the end of half too, would have been awesome to tie it up but we still played great the last 8 or so minutes of the 1st half.
