Joe wanted the trophy too much. He said before the game he was still thinking about running out of time in his HS state championship game. He was not going to be denied.

Objectively, OSU would have run the ball consistently instead of abandoning it like Clemson did. OSU ground game was impressive.. it would have been interesting to see how we held up against it.

No it wouldn't as LSU would have adjusted and beat them by14-21 as well. You know why?

Because that what this years LSU team does!

Etienne was running through the LSU LB's... we didn't adjust; Clemson stopped feeding him. Like I said, objectively OSU would have probably kept with the run and Dobbins would have busted some big plays. Not to say that we wouldn't have won the game, but to think that wouldn't be a factor is ignorant.

LSU 2020 - Hands down, the greatest college team ever! No one would have beat them last night. No one!

Objectively, thanks for your subjective opinion.

OSU WR's would not have done anything against LSU.
Fields would have made mistakes.
Dobbins is really good.
I think Clemson's D was faster and I don't think the Ohio St def coord would have had any better plan than Venables.

It would have been a similar type game with LSU pulling away in the end.

The explosiveness of Burrow and the LSU offense almost forces the opposition to match it. This forced Clemson out of their comfort zone. When Lawrence tried to make the throws under pressure against SEC (not ACC) caliber defenders in tight windows time after time, he was not up to the challenge. LSU used their LB's to make the run by Etienne and Lawrence difficult. Lawrence could not make the throws that Burrow can at this point in his career!

^^^ Exactly this ^^^

Our offense was, by far, our defense's best ally. Our O jumping out to commanding leads forced opposing offenses to become one-dimensional, and that played into the strength of our defense. Our pass rushers and DBs are as elite as it comes, and you have to run the ball with success to keep the LSU D honest. Otherwise, they pin their ears back, play blanket coverage on wideouts and collapse the pocket with speed and pressure.

Our defense stiffened a lil in the second half. I wasn't liking the runs Etienne was getting and Fulton getting beat but they tightened that up. Fulton finally makes a play ,gets a pick and they take it from him. Tell me a defense that wouldn't be happy with holding Clemson to what we held them to- yds 25 pts
