It wasn't Etling or Fournette or Receivers......

It was the LSU OL which was pathetic. That was the reason LSU lost to Bama.
Erling took a beating and was pressured all night long.
Fournette and Guice had Bama DLs and LBs in their faces almost at the snap.
This was an absolutely horrible effort by the LSU OL and if any of you blame anybody other than the LSU OL then you are nuts.

Welcome to the Party. Been saying this since the clock hit 0. Grimes needs to get out. Horrific coaching. Had two weeks to prepare and we put that crapshow on the field. Suprised Etling didn't die

Quick outs, slants, short passes to wear down the pass rush.
Screens and draws to take advantage of the over zealous pass rush.
Acknowledge that those are play calling adjustments and not o-line adjustments per se.

Shotgun 90 % of the time and run slip screens, bubble screens, slants,drags to te's, swing passes to guice these are all plays that gets the ball out of etling's hand quick. The play actions were too slow developing and can't be run so many times against a great dline like Bama. Not saying it would have beat Bama but it may have slowed the rush enough to have a chance. Those plays are just to somehow spread the defense and slow the pass rush to be able to run and complete some deeper routes also.

I've been wailing on Jeff Grimes for years. His scheme doesn't work here and he has incredibly low standards of excellence when it come to Offensive Line recruiting. Has loaded up the roster with NON-SEC caliber OL's.
Pocic is legit, but was recruited by Stud. Clapp gets a passing SEC grade, but after that the pickings are slim. Gotta recruit all over the country like Bama does. That's the only way to do it.
Whoever the new HC is, has got to hire a great OL coach and let him stock it up. Get out of Louisiana. Hit Texas, Northeast, Midwest and West. Aranda needs to bring us some frozen Wisconsin OL's to warm up and thaw out!

It has been poor OL recruiting and O Lineman playing in wrong spots across the line. Read Jimmy's article. It is spot on.

So you have the stones to stand in and set your feet while guys are blasting through that shite show we call an OLine. Hell, I'd challenge you to invite the two smallest kids in your neighborhood over and allow them to run at you while you wait for a pattern to develop and see how well you can do

Lol...guys I cant be mad at the Oline. They played as well as they always do. They didnt suck, they just went up against the best front seven in the country. Did we really expect them to win that battle??? No one should have. My blame is solely on coaching. A coaches job is to play to strengths and mask weaknesses. Going into this game we all knew this was THE ONE deficiency in the entire matchup. When I saw 3yrd routes on 3rd and seven thats coaching. When four receivers are 15yds down field and havent made their break yet of course Etling is going to be on his butt...thats on the coaches.
The three teams that had offensive success gainst Alabama in my opinion were Ohio State, Clemson and Mississippi. They had great offensive production and the one thing they have in common is they get the ball out quick (majority quick passes) and push tempo with a mobile quarterback.
We will start beating Alabama again when we can mimic said strategy. Add that to our defense and we win a championship.

You don't beat Bama in double TE sets with 1 WR. That allows more Lbs and D linemen on the field. You move the ball on Bama with run/pass options in 3 and 4 wide sets.

I'm starting to wonder if some of the RB's and Wr's come as a package deal....if I go to LSU...you have to give my offensive lineman a scholarship too....
