It shouldn't be this hard

Thats what this all comes down too. It just seems so hard for LSU to put together offensive drives and move the ball with consistency. It's been this way for a decade.
Take a look around the football landscape There is an offensive renaissance going on. What the Saints, Rams, and Chiefs are doing this year. What the Steelers and Patriots have been doing for awhile. At the college level you have the Urban Meyers and Mike Leach's of the world and the number of coaches from their coaching tree.
Even at the high school level, teams have switched to throwing the ball with more consistency than they did when I graduated in the early 2000's. But for LSU it has remained almost the same for a decade. No matter who the OC is, who the QB is, who the HC is, or the caliber of players around them. It has remained the same.
Why? IMO Its a matter of not being willing to choose an exact identity and working towards it. For years Les would recruit a dual threat QB and a pocket passer. Now O is promoting OCs that have been on staff for a decade. We simply don't know who we are or what we want to be.
A decision needs to be made.

And people also think 60 yr old position coaches can go sit with the Rams and Saints coaches for a day and learn how to implement their systems or even plays from their systems.
This coaching staff seems like they had an idea of what they want, but they don’t know HOW to implement the system. Our plays look simple and easy to defend.
We need young and innovative minds that can mask around team deficiencies. Take the talent they have on hand and play to players strengths.

We aren’t beating aTm so you can kiss that Sugar Bowl dream goodbye.

Hahaha you act like we are definitely going to lose to A&M. They have problems themselves.

A&M is not a good team. They actually made the Ole Miss defense look good. That is just sad.

We need to clean house on the offensive side of the ball, and Orgeron needs to keep his hands out off the offense.

[b]I agree. This same old predictable slow developing play offense has been going on for too long. We have a decent Off. line, but for this offense where there is rarely any quick misdirection plays, you would need an offensive line superior to Alabama. Many of us are weary viewing this since the BCS Championship in 2007. It doesn't make sense that Les was fired because he didn't change & O comes in with the same stuff. If someone is as tough as Alabama, you need to be quicker & trickier so that your defense isn't on the field twice as long as they should be. We may not win every game, but LSU's slow predictable offense is not the "Breakfast of Champions".
