CLM is actually at 76% since the 2007 bcs championship
This is very true and greatly ignored.
Miles record from 2005-2007: 34-6 or 85%
Miles record from 2008-2013: 58-17 or 77%
So with his recruits, Les is nearly 10% worse in winning percentage than with Saban's recruits.

My favorite part of this thread is people who thought 80% is a C.
You can tell who never made it past grade school.
Posters have gone to school at different places and at different times.
I was laughing at (and congratulating) some friends that got 60+ D's to pass LSU courses in 1990.

Les Miles has more national championships than FatBastard has credit hours.

Not pumping but Miles is a high B...
Where's the curve?! Chris Peterson has about the best record out there as a head coach and he runs about 90% so he's the A+. 79% + 10 point curve sets ole Leslie at a high B.
He's frustrating as shite sometimes but his numbers are impressive in the SEC...overall.

This conveniently places a cut after one of Miles best years and before his worst. How about we just move that a tad?
2005-2008: 42-11 79%
2009-2013: 50-12 80.6%
Plus in these latter years Les has had to deal with having Saban in his division.
Probably better still would be to look at it in 4 year cycles (as that's whay we appear to be on).
2005-2008: 42-11 79%
2009-2012: 43-10 81%
2013-2016: 7-2 77%
And even if we lose a couple more this year, Les should have a few more years before you can say the whole cycle is bad.
The issue you are having is not with LSU's performance, but rather that you feel compelled to compare us with Bama/Saban (And no one compares favorably to that).

I just posted his winning % with Saban's recruits as compared to his own. He was by far more successful in his 1st 3 seasons than he has been in the last 6. I'm not comparing him to saban or Alabama. I'm simply comparing him to his previous success. Sorry if that doesn't fit your agenda

If you want to play that game take out his worst and best seasons from 2008-2013 (so far):
His record goes to 37-11 or low and behold 77%. Fact is that is who Les is. Outside of 2011, his teams have been weaker overall than in his first 3 years which were heavily dominated by his predecessors recruits.
So when people say LSU is on a decline, it statistically is true, but very minor.
Let's say LSU finishes 10-3 this year (loss to Bama or A&M), then 2009-2013 will have a record of 53-13 or 80% which is still worse than his first 3 years and eliminates his worst year. Add that to the fact that he was 3-0 from '05-'07 and 2-3 since in bowl games, I'd say its a pretty damn real trend.

it is on a stricter scale. scroll back and read. not just colleges but some high schools still use that 10 points system between grades as well that you are wanting miles to be graded on. use both, cumulatively it comes out to a C+. C- on strict grade, B- on lenient grade.
Ah. Fair enough. I thought I was more informed on this subject than I was. I was under the impression the ten point scale began in high school and had been in place pretty much forever.

Some of you underestimate how likely it is that LSU will never again have a coach who wins as frequently as Les Miles does. I say to you people, therefore, that if you cannot be happy with LSU under Les Miles, you will never ever ever be happy with LSU football.
I could not agree more!!!

Miles is an above average coach. I don't see how replacing him would benefit this program.

It's a risk-reward proposition in thought. Either you are satisfied with above average or you are willing to risk failure for reward.
I'm not satisfied with the status quo. I also was at LSU during the Archer/Hallman years. I see wasted potential with LSU football. I'm also a risk taker.

I can deal with differences in opinion when someone has some logical thought and expresses it. You've done nothing. And I'm not the only one to see it.
After about 10 words, I skim past your post and see risky, victim, bachelorette party and know I am not missing anything.
Best of luck.

Summary:
You have no idea what my point is, and I'm having a good time being an LSU fan.
I have no idea what your point is, and you're in the corner pouting because the best era in LSU football history isn't good enough for you.
You're the absolute worst type of fan. Watching games with people like you sucks.
