I’m not suggesting that it would necessarily be a good idea, but I’m curious about whether it is currently forbidden by the geniuses up in Indiana...

You will have a lot of players opt out of a spring season, simply because of the crunch between the fall/spring and fall/NFL combine schedule. By all means, give me football and more football, but it would really be weird.

It's unlikely that the conferences that "postponed" football will play in the Spring. That was done because it sounds better than saying they cancelled the football season. In the unlikely event it happens, draft eligible players will opt out.

Assuming that the SEC, Big 12, and ACC play in the fall as planned, there's no chance that these conferences turn around after having played what will be perceived as the real football season in the Fall and play a bullshite Spring season. The Big 10 and Pac 12 screwed up royally. The other 3 conferences are basically laughing at them. No way are the SEC, Big 12, and ACC going to bail out the Big 10 and Pac 12 by playing a make believe Spring football season.

Even if they were inclined to play in the Fall and Spring, this would entail three seasons in a row. They're not going to play in the Fall, then in the Spring, and then again the next Fall.
