Is serving beer going to help prevent the exodus after half time?

Has Woodard talked about this issue?

The new offense should help people stick around...

or is the traffic just that bad?

It certainly won’t hurt.

Combine beer sales with an exciting team to watch, we should be fine with second half attendance.

FWIW

85-90% at kickoff
45% at start of second half
30% start of fourth

I think it will help for the big time SEC games. It's understandable that people left a blowout in the heat and humidity.

Partly, some people who left early was because they drank all day and wanted/needed another beer. Overall i think it will impact less than 2000 people a game

It's all about the traffic and how the infrastructure around the stadium/campus is fricking terrible.

No, traffic is the driver that causes fans to leave early.

So what is the plan? or is just such a horrible design, they don't have any answers?

I am hoping Woodard will address the issue

he talks a lot of about fan experience is his top priority, well I think Traffic needs to be in his top 3...

People have been bitching for years about beer and alcohol sales and the putrid offense as why they were leaving early. Last night we were throwing the ball all over the field and people could buy all the beer they want. They still left early. We just have a bunch of bitch fans who are there for the social media posts at the start of the game and can’t wait to leave to get back home or to the bar.

Even if fans were choosing to leave early because of the traffic, that doesn't mean beer sales won't keep their asses in the seats. People are more likely to stay if they can drink and they'll likely remain after their drinks to sober up.

It used to be no big deal to stick around until the end of the game. You could walk out after the game and hang at your tailgate set up pretty close by. We used to watch late running games, talk to leaving visitors and have a few beers while waiting for traffic to end.

I’m thinking traffic will be addressed when fans make it the loud social media squeaky wheel.

People left in droves at half. Most of the people around us had small children and they were done by then. But the most noticeable “emptyness” was NW corner above student section. That was a ghost town second half.

I brought my 3 children yesterday and we left at halftime because it was still in the 80s. If yesterday had been and SEC game the kids wouldn’t have joined us.

Long story short, GFY

I never left a game early in my life while there. How about all of you pussies spend each and every day on the 405 or one of the many more in Los Angeles? Daily commutes 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way are common. You stupid sorry weak f@ckers are complaining about traffic for something that you wait for all year long and will only have to deal with a handful of times per year?

They now serve beer and yet we all watched how the stadium looked pathetic yet once again. There’s the typical next in line excuse ready for why it’s ok now to be a douche fan that will leave early and not support the team for a few hours a week. I’m clear across the country and when I can get home for games, I’m cherishing every traffic filled moment. F@cking pussies have infiltrated our fan base.

It really wasn't miserable weather. You have an extremely enteratining offense for the first time in decades. You know that you are going to see the future of the Tigers playing in the second half since it is a blow out - Myles Brennen and alot of freshmen. But people still leave during halftime.
I love Baton Rouge but it just isn't that interesting and exciting to hang out in BR on Saturday night as opposed to being in Tiger Stadium when the offense is throwing it every other play. I am about to decide that many of our so called "fans" want to say they attend games but really don't care that much about the game of Tiger football.
And BTW, to all the Orgeron haters, settle in for the next 10 years or so. He's coming!

The days of people staying in a blowout after halftime are over...especially in a night game. There is nothing that can be done about that.

Ironically, if it leads to more blowouts, it will do the opposite.

It's embarrassingly bad. They choose not to start contra flow before the game ends. That makes no sense. Again, ironically, if they started it early, people leaving early would be the solution to the traffic situation. Instead, they just made it harder for those early departures to get off campus which, of course, makes traffic bad for those leaving at the end of the game.

Who knows? They aren't serving beer yet. They're selling flavored water brands of Bud, Karbach, and that sort of garbage and passing it off as beer. So, we'll have to wait till they serve beer.
