Kentucky held them to under 100 rushing, in Oxford no less. 7 TFLs and 4 sacks. I’m watching the replay and it looks like they’re having a hell of a time with Kentuckys front.

I know LSUs DL isn’t elite but it’s pretty damn good, esp relative to expectations. In a super rowdy Tiger stadium, this could be the matchup that swings the game our way.

Also, why I absolutely love South Carolina +9.5 at home vs Ole Miss this Saturday. SCs DL is gonna dominate that game I think.

Ole Miss' OL graded out decently well enough against UK. 2 guys were under a 60 but barely. 63, 65 and 71 outside of those 2 on their OL. They did have 1 backup guard who played 9 snaps get a miserable grade (and gave up a sack plus another pressure).

Overall though their OL only gave up 2 sacks, 1 by the backup guard who barely played. The other sacks were on Dart.

Ole Miss actually rushed for 111 yards on 25 attempts taking out the sack yardage. Not a good day rushing but they never really tried to establish a run game either (RBs had 16 carries all game).

Kentucky defense dominated UGA as well. They’re a feisty bunch. Very disciplined and attacking style defense. They don’t miss many tackles either.

Does this matter in today’s college football?

South Carolina barely beat old dominion and lsu was fortunate to come out of Columbia with a win.

Don’t put too much into how teams play each other. Rather focus on how they will match up when they are playing against each other.

Kentucky has a very salty defense.

Ole Miss had the season high total yards and they had 353.

They’re also a big TOP team. 26th nationally in TOP. They have 242 plays against. that’s 16th fewest in the country. No other team with 5 games has less than 280 against them.

LaNorris Sellers is going to start this game for SC. If you are an Ole Miss fan this is definitely not what you want to hear. Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart has issues when he is pressured. SC got just the man for the job in Dylan Stuart. Jackson is going to get introduced to Dylan in his backfield and in his face a lot more than he would like this Saturday. This game may take some of the luster off the LSU vs Ole Miss game. Pre season this game was going to be the match up of two undefeated teams, well preseason is just that preseason

Deone Walker is going to be a first rd draft pick off their interior. That have several dudes on that D that will play in the NFL.

I could be mistaken but I believe I saw UK defense rated at #9 in NCAA...

Kentucky's defense is legit, I know those of us who have been watching SEC football for decades like me that is hard to wrap our heads around and buy into but it's true. They pretty much physically whipped Ole Miss and Georgia and one thing I also noticed is that their receivers were not getting separation on the Kentucky DBs either. They just have a very good defense front to back.

Now their offense and QB not so good which is why South Carolina crushed them with only about 250 total yards on offense.

UK has some big dudes at DT like Deone Walker 6'6 345 and 2-3 other rotation guys in the 330+ range. They push the pocket, tie up blockers and clog lanes. Walker doesn't have a lot of stats, but he does his job clogging up the middle and is likely going to be a pretty high draft pick.

This is incorrect. Kiffin has focused on establishing balance with the run since he got to Ole Miss and they were one of the top rushing teams in the conference the last two years. They aren’t running as much right now, especially between the tackles, because their OL isn’t as good as last year or as they were expected to be this season.

UKs front is good and very experienced, but a few pundits have pointed out how many hits Dart was taking against the crap teams on their schedule and how much he was HAVING to run because of pressure. Against UK, we saw confirmation that they just a mediocre SEC OL.

I got no issue with Baker, Kentucky has more talent than us on defense right now, which should never be - but it is. Hopefully that gets rectified in the next couple of recruiting classes....I think it will be.

I cannot understand this line. It is almost like they are begging people to bet it on SC. I am hoping SC kicks their arse, but I would not touch it.
