Mondo is awesome
He’s half Swedish and they pushed hard for him. On top of that, how often to you hear about USA track stuff on the news? He’s a daily headliner in Sweden. My Swedish colleagues keep me updated but I only read about him on the Rant.

Shaq can’t go anywhere in the world without being recognized. Only a handful of people in Tiger Stadium on a packed Saturday night would recognize Mondo.

Globally he’s much more well known. Track and field is pretty massive in Europe. He’s a household name over there. No one in the US or in Europe cares about women’s basketball

Exactly. Mondo would be recognized immediately in Europe but not in the US or even on campus.

Well, he is from Louisiana, both his parents went to LSU, both were Olympians, and he was talked about here when he was still in HS.
And he did go to LSU. And he is accomplished at a level in his sport that few other people are or have been.
And also from my hometown, so I may be biased
