Is K'lavon Chaisson ready to be the next Arden Key?
He came in with big hype. After seeing significant playing time, what do the shade-tree scouts think of him? How big of a drop off, if any, are we looking at at Key's spot next year?

Compared to Key's contribution thus far this year, I would think we will get an improvement with Chaisson next year.

HE looks like a better fit in Corey Thompson’s role at the F then the buck. He needs some pass rush moves for sure

I watched him pretty close at the game Saturday. He’s got a ways to go but the raw talent of clay looks ripe to mould. If my memory serves me right he didn’t start playing organized football until late in his high school career. Too soon to tell but I bet Chaisson has a good career at LSU.

No.

Key may be the best pure pass rusher LSU has had in a generation, maybe more. You could tell in game one that Key could be very special.

It's not Chassion's fault he came in overhyped, but he has a LONG way to go be the next Arden Key. That doesn't mean he can't/won't be a good player. It's just that right now he doesn't project to be an all-time great pass rusher, which is what key has been for LSU

There will be a drop-off. Not trying to knock K’Lavon but Key was a different level guy as a freshman. K’Lavon isn’t a natural like Key was. He’ll vastly improve as a sophomore but Key isn’t replaceable.

In his limited action he seemed to be very raw but an absolute freak of an athlete.

He just needs to learn moves and how to use his hands to get off blockers. He was used to using his athleticism alone in HS. Very fast, but wasn't quite as ready day one to deal with college tackles and schemes.

Chaisson reminds me a lot more of a young Mingo more than a young Key.

I was pumped about Thornton playing this year, not sure what happened to the guy.

I don't know that I've ever seen a LB have a faster spin move than Chaisson did here; LINK

People forget Chaisson only played 2 years of football in high school. He has a lot to learn and his upside is through the roof with his athletic ability.

He's young and raw. Not as far along as Key was at this stage. I soecifically recall a handoff up the middle where he sort of misjudged a possible run wide and basically watched as the Rb took it straight up the middle. There was basically no attempt at the Rb. An obvious youth mistake that was prob a result of the speed of sec football.

I think Anthony will play a lot next year if he's healthy. Also the juco guy from bastrop

Healthy arden key is a top 5 pick. Klavon has some big shoes to fill... Metaphorically speaking... They actually probably have a close shoe size

I'll take a clone of either of those greats any day. I think Chaisson will get pretty freakish with a good education in the game.
