Is it time for Ducre to be given a look at possible LB spot entering Jr season?

Ducre is a special player, but he is caught in an awkward spot at RB.
At FB, he is behind returning Sr JD Moore and returning Jr Bry'Kiethon Mouton. He seems to be in a log jam, despite coming out of HS rated as the #1 FB in the country (by 247)
At RB, he is firmly behind Guice, Williams and Brossette (who has always entered the game ahead of Ducre in "trash time"), and maybe Akers or another incoming freshman.
As a returning Jr, that presents this question, especially since LSU has its biggest needs for 2017+ at the LB position.
I'd love to see Canada, Juluke and Orgeron give Ducre a chance to crack the lineup at FB or RB, but realistically, is he going to get a real chance in his upcoming Jr year behind Moore and Mouton and the slew of high caliber RB's? Probably not.
That would mean he would be relying on beating out Mouton and any other roster additions for his Sr year and last chance to get his shot to shine.
Has he somehow gotten buried in the doghouse, or just has not impressed the right coaches?
Yes, converting to LB is far from trivial, but could he get some work at both spots to see how it goes? He is smart, fast and physical, so Aranda could perhaps condition him into a mean LB?
He is such a good kid and talent, it seems that it would be worth a shot, and better than the risk of him continuing to be playing behind so many who have gotten ahead of him in the crowded backfield.
Thoughts?

I wish I could add insight, but I just saw the Britney Spears yoga pic. Can't think right now

Absolutely, giving Ducre a shot at LB should be a strong consideration. This has been mentioned a few times before.
I am frankly surprised that he has not approached the coaching staff about this or even considered transferring to another school.

Believe it was in the 4.45 (and even lower) range.

Honestly, with his combo of speed and size, I wouldn't be surprised if Canada figures out a way to use him on offense. He seems like a perfect fit for what he ran at Pitt. Assuming we run something like that next year, don't be surprised if he gets used in some packages.

Did he play any defense in high school?

Exactly. The way Canada uses FBs Ducre could have a breakout year.

I'd be all for it BUT has he ever played Linebacker before at any level?

Been a big fan of the kid, and hope Canada gives him a clean slate, and indeed sees him as ideal for his offense. The kid is a beast, and his time window needs to open soon. Last year there were reports he did well in spring ball, and then when the season rolled around, he seemed to get less action than the minimal he got his freshman year (were Miles and Cam wasted his potential redshirt for no real significant role).
Canada provides new hope, and if not, the LB option should be given major consideration.

Once, against Slidell his junior year.

It couldnt hurt. It really boils down to if he can grasp the concepts of LB. Reading the O line and knowing where his DTs will be blocking to fill gaps. It isnt as easy as RB has ball go hit RB.

How well did he play in that game?

He's a running back.

It's just hard to take someone who has played tailback his entire life, and move him then expect him to compete at a high level at another position. In the SEC for that matter.

Is a a Junior or RS Sophomore?
If he can play LB, I'm all for a move that would get the kid on the field sooner.
