Is it safe to assume Orgeron was more than happy to see Aranda leave?

Orgeron VERY happy with the defense under Bo Pelini. #LSU

Yeah, I know, bold assumption. But I think it's very clear the two of them never saw eye to eye on the defense.

Aranda had his mind elsewhere last year. He was ready to move on up.

O likes the aggressive style of Pelini not to mention the move back To the 4-3 But at the end of last year the defense was fantastic that can’t be denied

I don't think he had a personal problem with Aranda...I think O would like to be more aggressive whereas Aranda would rather sit back in zone and keep everything in front.

No inside information, but i assume that had Dave want to return O would have been fine with it. Same with Brady.

So with that said, what do you want him to say? "I hate Bo and miss Aranda."

Seems so, but if was not for the presence of Aranda on the staff, Orgeron never gets the HC job. Aranda was thought to be a stabilizing factor which permitted Alleva to take risks with the HC choice.
No Aranda, no Orgeron.

I think this 4-3 suits LSU better but lets not act like Dave is a scrub. Dave is the kind of guy that can do more with less and he was really good for us when we werent stocked quite like we are now. He painted a few masterpieces for us during his time here.(and a few not so great games) I will always admire his football intellect and his contribution while he was here

If this defense is better than it was from A&M through Clemson last year, saddle up for another Natty run.

It definitely took a minute to compensate for the new offense but once he did, they were lights out. Im honestly not sure how talented we were on the DL, other than KLC it was a tick below what we've seen in the past, and even he took half the year to get rolling.

Aranda was the only thing we could really have faith in for basically 2-3 years.

Aranda left the LSU defense in a worse spot than he inherited

I don't think O's comments are directed to Aranda. I think it's more that O's defensive philosophy is consistent with Pelini's scheme.

I know I was glad he's gone. I'm not a fan of "bend but don't break."

Pelini may be better than Aranda was last year, but I chalk that comment up as nothing more than a coach propping up his new hire that was kind of polarizing for the fans.

I want to believe him, but they were lights out from A&M through Clemson. It would be awesome, but I don’t buy it.

O is just a 4-3 guy, always has been. HE knew he couldnt get rid of Aranda because of how good he was but I'm sure he's happy to move on from a passive 3-4 to an attacking 4-3.

It doesnt make anything of what Aranda did less, he did a great job overall, just not a perfect fit for what O wanted in a defense.

Different philosophies on football is all.

Orgeron likes an attacking offense that highlights linemen and linebackers causing sacks mostly.

Aranda liked putting incoming pressure on QBs, not necessarily for a sack, but to cause him to make a mistake throwing the ball giving our secondary a chance at an interception.

There are pros and cons to both styles if they are executed correctly.

Maybe not, but he made it a point to talk about what he wants to run now on defense quite a few times Aranda left. Like it was finally time.

Not saying it was a personal thing with them. But Aranda wasn't his hire.

No I dont think it is safe to assume that. CEO had a great working relationship with DA. Just because he bragged about what they are doing now on D does not mean he is undercutting DA. If anything I believe he is freshening his bait for the big fish he is trying to land in Smith and Foreman...
