I think if we make it to the Championship Game, we will get an invite to the NCAAT.

See the 1993 LSU Men's Basketball team. Very similar resumes.

There's been a poster on this board who has said for 6 freaking weeks 20 gets us in. TIGAHLOVAH. Now, me screaming this for a month and a half doesn't guarantee I'm right, but that would total NINE quadrant 1 wins, probably tops in the country. A couple projections have us first and next 4 out NOW. I see no way we are left out if we lose on sunday.

The Q1 wins situation is very fluid. Right now Arkansas has a 30 RPI. If they lose their first game in the SECT that likely drops them out of the top 30 and in the process, takes away a Q1 win for LSU. Now, Mizzou sits at 33. If they can win in the SECT, they likely jump into the top 30, giving LSU a Q1 win.

20 wins in and of itself isn't some magic number. It's WHO you beat. MSU would be a good, but not great win. Tenn. would be a HUGE win. Florida/Arkansas would be a great win. But if, say, South Carolina gets hot and makes a run to the semi-finals a LSU win (which would be their 20th) wouldn't be a great win.

Outside of winning the tournament, the perfect scenario for LSU would be to beat State, then Tenn., then Florida/Arkansas and lose to UK/Auburn in the finals. A four game stretch of wins vs. State, Tenn, South Carolina, and loss to say, Bama, wouldn't be nearly as good.

I know 20 isn't an automatic number, but the likely quality of our wins would get us in this year with 20.

Yep, I've only posted this for 6 weeks now, and probably a dozen times, but I think I'm right on the 20 wins. I would love for us to get the 20 to find out if I'm right, though!

From when this was initially posted we went from bubble team #8 to #6 for what it’s worth.

With the quality wins we have, we aren't as far away from an at large bid as you think.

Sports Illustrated thinks 3 wins in the SEC tourney makes us a lock. Says Wednesday is an elimination game against Miss St but our game is Thursday, so do they really know what they’re talking about? That win against Michigan looks a lot better.

Making the championship would probably get us in the last 4 in/last 4 out mix. Our pomeroy and kpi rankings are pretty good, even though our rpi is bad. Quadrant 1 wins are supposed to mean a lot this year.
