Dude is a star, and the best thing about our defense right now is the d line.
Maybe I’m not paying attention, but he’s not in THAT much. Dude needs to be on the field.
Gaye and Anthony I guess get some of his reps. But BJ is is leading the SEC in sacks!!

So is he playing even 60 percent of the snaps?
If not why isn’t he?

Because he isn't heavy enough to be a 3 down player. Teams would run right at him.

He’s in on third downs because he’s a pass rush specialist at the moment. Give him a year to put on a few pounds and he won’t come off the field

well the team has ran right at our other guys and they cant even string their guy out and force a RB inside. Why not give him a shot, if a guy can get off a pass block and make plays good chance he can against a run block too.

The words “Is it just me” are so narcissistic. But it is you; it’s always about you, buttercup.

He moves better than Clark, why not at LBer. Tackles are being made past the dline now anyway

Shouldn't you know the answer before you post this inquiry?

His one job this season is get the quarterback and he is very good at it so they put him in on pass rushing situations.

He doesn’t play the run well enough yet. He’ll surely get stronger being a freshman and all.

He is not big enough to be an every down guy. If we continue to force 2nd and long 3rd and long. He will

He only weighs 210lbs. Not nearly big enough for 4-3 defensive end on non passing downs.

I really don't see how people can keep up with the downs played by linemen, you can only see there numbers once every 10 plays.

Ojulari is pretty easy to spot because he looks tiny compared to the other lineman and he is also always making a play it seems

A Freshman leading the SEC in Sacks, the coaches must be doing something right.
He probably doesn't have the size and strength to play every down. They platoon him in the right circumstances to be most effective.
Good job pelini.

Not saying he is but LSU’s website has him listed at 230. 247 had him listed at 215 so I am assuming he’s somewhere in between.

the best thing about our defense right now is the d line.

People are giving our d-line too much credit. They are doing a good job of pressuring QBs, but they are a big part of the problem on run defense. In a 4-3 (or in our case, a 4-2), d-linemen have to make plays, not just eat blocks. Our defensive ends are not setting the edge. I’m not defending our linebackers for their crap play, but far too often, ball carriers are getting to them not only untouched, but with their course completely unaltered.

Regarding BJ, I watched him in high school. He got pushed around on run plays in high school. He is an incredible pass rusher, but would be a liability in stoppping the run.

As opposed to running right at our other players? it’s not like we’ve been stout against the run
