Right now he is a better pitcher. Hess needs a change and a curve that he can throw consistently for a strike to lefties. One of those slurves.

He has the potential for greatness. Right now I think he is kind of overacheieving a bit but he is definitely talented. He probably needs another pitch long term but you really can't argue with the results thus far. He's basically forced himself into the starting lineup and I don't see him leaving it for the foreseeable future
