Iowa got into the top 25. They are so bad though. How did we lose to them?

We got their best pitcher on Saturday. I know it wasn’t a typical weekend rotation but they saved their best for No.1. He was pretty good.

You must have not seen the game. Easy to figure out why we lost. Cooper had what will likely be his worst outing of the year. His control was off. He left a lot of pitches up and over the plate. AND, Iowa pitched their flame throwing ace, Brecht. 100 MPH FB, splitter, change up, and slider. He didn’t have a great day either but the FB was such that our hitters had to commit early and ended up swinging at a LOT of balls. Pitch recognition was the problem. They learned a bunch in that game.

I've said it before: The collective sarcasm meter on this board is broken. I don't even really like the OP's actual point, because countering overreactions with another overreaction (polls this early don't tell us anything) is not generally the way to go about things; but I don't understand how people can miss such obvious sarcasm.

As always with baseball, one great pitcher can make any team beat any other team. They have the number 1 pick in the 2024 draft as their ace. We started Cooper. SO that game means nothing in my opinion of the baseball team
