it was so strange too because he had a pretty deep ball. most young and are the other way around. they do well on the short and intermediate throws and struggle with timing on the deep balls.

like you said, he didnt trust himself or his decisions. you never saw him take a drop and just fire the ball out once that plant foot hit the 3rd or 5th step.
I'm sure coaching didnt help with such a premium on NOT throwing an int.

I've said it before but was down voted into oblivion but we will be regretting the day we let Brandon Harris go.

I was also laughed at saying Fedora should have been the next HC of LSU. Even before Herman. But everyone fell for the binder. SMH

Brandon Harris is fine in practice, and I'm sure his footwork in practice at LSU was fine as well. But when those lights come on he completely blacks out and forgets everything he was taught. He just doesn't have the poise to be a D1 successful quarterback.

This x 100. I was at Lambeau and Harris' performance last year broke me of any delusion that Harris could be a prime time QB at the college level. Harris may shine at NC but I doubt it.

Basically, Fedora says Harris can pass accurately in passing drills when he can lock in on a single receiver. As if we didn't know.

Harris will throw for over 3,000 yards in that offense and in that conference with a coach that knows how to teach QBs.

He won't know where to go with the ball when a live defense comes after him. His eyes will be as big as dinner plates again. I think that he's always been one of those guys that practices well but doesn't translate it to the game. Kind of like the guy at work who interviews real well but can't find his butt with both hands.

Relax. He clearly wasn't on field with defense too.

He would have been a superstar under Canada or Herman

Or meyer or even malzahn.

I still think he could be counted as the worse waste of talent we've ever had.

Didn't help that he was a gunslinger and les hog tied him.

Guice fumbled early and that was the decider

Wut? Game was never over until the last drive. Guice's fumble didn't decide the game.

Exactly. Thy gave the ball to Harris and asked him to win the game against Arkansas and he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Bingo.

I watched this guy in HS and accuracy was never a problem. Even his first few games of his freshman year when was out there slinging it with nothing to lose...he was plenty accurate.

The longer he was coached at LSU, the worse he got.

Harris shouldve been running the ball at lease 8 times a game in the read option. I mean, while the hell wouldn't he?

Les and cam tried to turn him into a QB he is not, and his destroyed his confidence when it didn't work.

Even when we went 3-4 wide, our WRs got no separation.

That's another unfortunate, but true statement. He wasn't getting much help from Dural/Dupre/Quinn with drops and poor route running.

Plenty accurate when he knows where he is going with the ball. Too bad he never knew where to go with the ball most of the time.

He had a fairly low completion pctg until his sr year.

He can be accurate on occassion, but he gets rattled and starts making mistakes.
