“He can make every throw there is,” Fedora said. “The guy has a tremendous arm and I have really been impressed with his accuracy. It’s easy to tell when he isn’t going to be accurate because his feet are messed up. When his feet are messed up then he’s usually not accurate so it’s not about arm strength - he’s got plenty of arm and he can be plenty accurate when he knows where he is going with the ball, and he can run so he’s got all of the tools that we’re looking for.”

If it was something as simple as his feet, did the old regime really not have the ability to identify and fix that ? i wish him luck.

He would have been a superstar under Canada or Herman

Because it is relatively easy to get your footwork right when you're wearing the non-contact jersey against the second team.

If footwork is so easy why doesn't Brandon just fix them himself

He hasn't thrown a pass in a game there. Let's see just how easy of a fix he is.

It's tough for a quarterback to have any real success when you only throw on 3rd down.

More on the coach then the player in this situation

Don't get me wrong, though. I think he can be much more successful in spread option system where he gets to run a ton of read-run concepts that also open massive windows for him to throw passes off read-run action. Take what he does well, make him do it a lot. Basically, the exact opposite of what Les Miles would do.

There wasn't ever a point where I didn't think Harris had enough talent. I 100% blame the coaches and scheme for not having a clue how to develop a QB. They always wanted the QB to get by on talent alone.

Brandon Harris is fine in practice, and I'm sure his footwork in practice at LSU was fine as well. But when those lights come on he completely blacks out and forgets everything he was taught. He just doesn't have the poise to be a D1 successful quarterback.

Any comments about him and his success at LSU under the new regime is purely speculation. It would've been interesting though to see him perform in an offense that he was best suited. He definitely needed a change though… His confidence was shot here.

My experience is that accuracy is something quarterbacks innnately have or do not have, like free throw shooters. You can make some difference with mechanics and practice, but it will not be much. There are some guys in the NBA that shoot a thousand free throws a day in practice, but are still 70% shooters.

Tebow is a good example in football. Nobody worked harder on mechanics and footwork than he did, he is just not an accurate thrower.

I suspect Harris will be better because he is older and more experienced. I think his accuracy problems will stay with him to some degree. He did not airmail screen passes at LSU because he wasnt coached how to throw, he just never was very consistent under pressure

These comments are just repeating things that we have always known about Harris. Everyone knows he has a strong arm. The coaches here tried to get him to clean up his footwork for 3 years. Apparently the kid gets it done in practice, great. But when the game starts, and he starts getting pressured his footwork goes to shite. He starts airmailing throws all over again. I guess we will see this year if another coach can get that fixed for him. I personally don't think he has what it takes between the ears, but maybe he can prove me wrong.

I agree, he threw a perfect spiral and was deadly accurate with that throw to the Wisconsin defender last year....

It's easy to tell him to correct his footwork in practice which I'm sure lsu did. Coaches can't do that before every play in a game or when a de is blitzing him and he can't think straight. He panics and his mind seems to go blank in pressure situations hence not setting his feet correctly. Would be very surprised if that changes this years in games.

This little tidbit can't be ignored. Harris can make every throw as long as it's his primary read. If he has to go through progressions he has problems.

Ding ding ding. All of Harris' problems are between the ears and I'm not calling him dumb. He panics at times.
