He's one of the most talked about in these spring articles. Lots of talk about how he communicates the defense and has turned the corner.

Always been a smart guy, hard worker, and good leader.

Let’s just hope he’s learned to get off a block.

He had an awful 2020 season so that's nice to see.

Lol, Patrick queen? More like welter, he simply doesn’t have the mindset or ability to play in space as a linebacker in the SEC especially in the middle. If he starts again, I’ll have lost complete faith in the staffs ability to evaluate talent. Which really shouldn’t be there after they gave him, and curry No 18. Last season.

Let’s bookmark this and bring it up after he plays to an All-SEC level this season and is getting talked about as a Day 2, potentially Day 1 selection.

For someone as big and physically gifted as he is, he isn’t very physical at all. I don’t think he will be able to hold Bugg Strong off all year.

If he does I’ll gladly eat crow but I have never seen a turnaround from probably the worst of a position group in the SEC to the best over one season. I want to clarify also I’ m talking about him at lb as I do think he could potentially play off the edge at the line of scrimmage or in some blitz packages.

He already proved he can in 2019 when he recorded the 6th most tackles on the team.

...as a backup.

What? for making the outrageous claim that Clark was awful last year?

That would be the final nail in the coffin for Bo if Damone performed at all conference level this coming season. Would Youngstown even want him back?

Pulling for the kid big time. How can you not. Most of his problems were scheme. Not being in the right position. Aka shitty coaching. You can’t be physical when you are 15 yds out of the play.

I still maintain that his issues last season were all due to Pelini. He was a really good player when on the field previously.

I never saw a “really good” player even in 2019. He made a lot of gang tackles but is very stiff and upright in pursuit and doesn’t have good instincts. I’m sure O and Bo’s system didn’t help but I just don’t see him going from a huge liability to a great player just because the system changed.

This is a huge exaggeration. He was never 15 yards out the play. You can't blame pelini for everything.

He picked wrong holes in the run game. Pelini was shite but the player has to take some responsibility

What?

Clark played very well in '19. Almost nobody looked good on D last year.

I didn't even look good watching our D last year.

Never thought i would ever say DJ welter had a better year at LB than clark had at lb last year. Hope he gets it together for his last year. We will need all hands on deck at LB if this team is going to have a good year.
