On October 7, 2000 LSU got beat by a score of 41-9.
On October 6, 2001 LSU got beat by a score of 44-15.

Neither the head coach nor the AD were fired.

The program survived.

And so did all of you.

You think our current HC will end up like our coach in those two games?

Orgeron ain't Saban and he didn't take over a Dinardo run program. You're one of the idiots that still thinks Orgeron was a good hire.

Not arguing OP's point, but you're delusional if you don't think that this MSU team is better than Florida right now.

we're not talking about how good Florida is now. We're talking about how good Florida was in 2000 and 2001 when those aforementioned games happened. Florida won the SEC in 2000 and was a top 5 team in 2001.

Everyone is treating this State team like they are nothing simply because they are Mississippi State. Tell me I'm wrong

Florida in 2000 and 2001 was light years better than any team State have ever had.

we'll see how they finish out the season. If they don't win 10 games this year with how weak the SEC appears to be, then yes I'll tell you that you are wrong

I was asking for you to do it now, not in hindsight. The fact that you didn't let's me know that you agree that everyone is discounting who we played last night simply because they are Mississippi State

well, right now we have a 3 game sample size. Neither team had played anyone good prior to last night, so you want me to say how good State is because of how bad they beat LSU? Maybe LSU is just bad. That holds just as much weight as saying MS State is that good.

I don't really care who we played last night. We were completely unprepared and looked like shite.

But I want to ask you a question. Do you think this year's Mississippi State team is as good as the Florida teams mentioned in the OP?

You are literally too dumb to insult. The comparison would be to Florida in 2000 and 01 - the end of the Spurrier era when they owned the SEC. why would you compare to UF today?

I was responding to someone who said:

That's why. Not responding to OP. Making a point that ALL OF US feel we are far superior to MSU because of the past, but they skull fricked us in the present.

You are actually too dumb to understand what I wrote.
No surprise there.

I bet Saban wouldn't have lost by 30 to this State team with our team be it 2000, '01, or '17.

I've been seeing a lot of this kind of thinking on the board. People just can't get their heads around the idea that this MSU team might be pretty damn good. Just because historically they haven't been a power in the conference does not mean that they are incapable of have a good year (or a good era...they beat us 4 times in a row in the early 80s). What I saw last night was a talented, seasoned team with great coaching and a really good QB. The jury is still out on them, but if they beat UGA on the road next week (and I think they will), it might be time to re-assess our opinion of this year's MSU team. Last night was ugly...there's no way to sugarcoat it. But it's not like we lost big to a typically mediocre MSU team. Small consolation, I know, especially given how poorly we played, but that was a really good team that beat us.

The real idiot is you. Probably too young to know the talent that dinardo had brought in that Nick inherited
