What did Hurd do that Floyd didn’t do.

Y’all love the shiny new toy and can’t give up on your past notions about players.

They don’t care.

He’s fat and they don’t like him so he must suck.

I think you tinker with the lineup but staff probably stays the same.

Let Blake money throw midweek.

Very disappointed that Cooper just couldn't pump strikes.

Idk how you keep kling in that spot though.

To me personally I would go

Tre
Crews
Tommy
Dugas
Jared
Josh
Kling
Thompson
Neal

I agree but I would flip Dugas and Morgan.

Morgan can’t run like he could as a freshman so it’s not like he brings that aspect to the leadoff spot and I like the idea of Dugas being able to punish fastballs hitting ahead of Crews and White.

Floyd gave up 3 ER 5 R total
Hurd gave up 2 and 2

Neither outing was great but Hurd’s was better

I’ll say this, both are working on their control in general. This was not a great weekend for LSU pitchers working in their control.

Neither can just shut pump batters like Skenes. And the strike zone was not kind to us on either side

I think all three are close right now, but I like the upside better on Shores and don't think Hurd should be out of the weekend rotation.

Not really anything Floyd has done to lose a job, I just think we can upgrade the weekend rotation as a whole with those changes.

Just discussion stuff for a Sunday evening.

Smart coaches don't overreact to one weekend. Floyd and Hurd will both be fine. It's a long season. Cooper is better than he showed today. Kling will adjust to SEC pitching and hopefully retake the leadoff spot. The staff needs more innings out of the bullpen to learn when to pitch who. They just haven't had much work this season

I think you give the rotation a chance and see how they do when the strike zone isn’t being squeezed so inconsistently as it was the last two days.

That was the most ridiculous shite I’ve seen in a long time

I think long term Shores probably has the most upside, but I don’t think that he’ll pass up Floyd or Hurd this year. Shores still needs to develop an out pitch and you usually see guys developing pitches in the offseason, not in the middle of SEC play.

I agree and disagree. I think he will catch one of them this year. I just don’t know which one and I don’t know when. I don’t think he’s there yet.

I'd like to see somebody other than Skenes get deeper than they have. We have enough diverse arms to still get through but being able to minimize bullpen volume will be important down the stretch. My personal opinion is that Hurd continues to emerge and they turn him loose. Then, you're just looking for that 3rd guy and how to sequence the bullpen most effectively. Too early to say yet, but Edwards may come into the conversation for that 3rd spot.
