Grimes and Moffitt need to go. Need a fresh start when it comes to our linemen and how we train them because it's obvious whatever we have done the past few years is no longer working.

When a cricket fan is calling for your firing, you suck at your job.

This special teams consulting isn't working.

And I'm not even thinking about placekicking.

Punting is horrendous (sub 100 on avg). Punt coverage is worse, #124 by avg return yards.

66th on KO returns coverage.

And none of this even includes the penalty yards. Finally letting Gamble kick it out of back of endzone should help. The corner kicks sound good in theory, gotta cover for it to be worth it.

And yeah, so done with Grimes.

I'd keep Moffitt bc the S&C coach is one of the best in the business. Moffitt didn't forget S&C, something is up with the discipline of the players in the weight room.

Grimes, today on the Sunday afternoon LSU episode, sounded like he was making excuse after excuse on the fly. None of what he said was encouraging.

Coach Orgeron needs to get some good JUCOs in to fix the lines for next year.

The jury is out in Canada. He is not doing what we've been told he can do. Which is make the O work with the players currently on roster.

Question: what has happened over the last two games to Aranda's D?

I'm not necessarily disagreeing , but are you saying we need a strength and conditioning coach who is capable of forcing or convincing players to do their part? Moffitt is as knowledgeable as any person in that field in this country. What exactly are you blaming on Moffitt? Is he not trying hard enough? is he not persuasive enough?

That's on the position coaches, ultimately the HC.

The default is don't put in the work- get passed up. There needs to be more motivation than that.

I don't think any changes are needed immediately...mid-season coaching changes are nothing more than knee jerk reactions to try to appease butt hurt message board posters and they seldom lead to anything meaningful.

the proper way to do things is to evaluate the staff each off season and decide whether anyone is available to upgrade.

Moffitt is one of the most respected S&C coaches in the nation. Hell, he mentored Bama's S&C coach. Moffitt didn't get his accolades and good reputation for being sorry at what he does.

Now on to Grimes... yeah, he gotta go.

So how do you propose to get rid of those two very professional and successful coaches? In other words, short of hiring a hit man how are you going to get rid of those two guy?

shite, just leave them on the coaching staff. If the team keeps playing the way they have so far this season, the entire coaching staff will be gone in a year or two.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how the current special teams coaching situation is worse than the last few years, where our linebackers coach coached linebackers PLUS all six special teams units. Splitting up the units allows each coach to give each unit more attention.

When's the last time we even had a dedicated special teams coach, other than last year when Orgeron stripped BDP of his linebacker responsibilities?

In effect, it is not. To use one unit/stat as an example... we've improved in punt coverage. From 127th in 2016 to 112th. Ugly is ugly.

I don't know what the answer is. What we're doing now, and last year, isn't working. Having a separate coach responsible for each unit seems unmanageable to me because it's the same players. But I may be thinking about this wrong.

Clearly OL, ST, and S&C need attention. We are told that is happening. But results more than suggest otherwise. Grimes stands out like an OL sore thumb. The multiple coach approach on ST is very questionable. S&C harder to pin down, except it might be more related to changes in practice than to Moffitt. But there is also a team character and team leadership question that might factor in. Ultimately HC’s puzzle to solve. But will he?

I agree with most things you said. As far as Aranda, the defense is depleted. We are very young and we have injuries on the line and Frank Herron still out. The depth is not where it needs to be there. We have young db’s playing who will make mistakes. Ed Paris was out last game. Battle went out with an injury. Donnie Alexander was out until the second half along with a lineman. Ed Alexander was out with injury. Lawrence was playing injured. Key is out if shape. No one is a miracle worker. To assume that this all of a sudden makes Aranda bad at what he is doing is a bit of a stretch. At the end of the day players have to be disciplined and be in the right position to make plays. The players blamed themselves in the MSU game and said they did not stay disciplined.

There is nothing you can put on S&C. The players are tired because they are on field to long. The freshmen on the OL that people stupidly think are weak are FRESHMEN. The OL isn't getting beat physically they are missing blocks completely. Blaming just shows how football ignorant the tards are on this board.
