Back in the mid-70's/early 80's, we (Tiger Band Drumline) used to have the 4-part "Geaux" cadence going the entire game while the team was on Offense and we kept it going until the game was decided.

This would be unacceptable today because it would interfere with the LSU Athletic Department recorded music RIDICULOUSNESS!...............

The students would figure out a way to ruin this as well. Neck was an interactive song the band played that both the players & fans got into but the new generation students ruined it like they do everything else. "Hey let's kill traditions by throwing in curse words that we think are cool, then all leave at halftime."

We've been trying to do synchronized clapping to the beat of a drum for 60 years!

So you cheered for an entire football game every time LSU had the ball?

Apart from the lack of rhythm among the fans, the synchronization of clapping with the drumbeat during pregame is unavoidable. Those closest to the band hear the drumbeat anywhere from a half second to a full second before those further away. So if everyone claps in sync with what they are hearing, it is impossible for everyone to clap simultaneously. My suggestion: be quiet and listen to the band.

Clap was cool but the seven nation army chant after is the most played out chant in all of sports

So true. But, all they have to do is watch band's steps instead of listening to the Drum beat and then it would sound cool

Agree. It's novel and new, I think it would be popular for a short time, maybe even 1 major home game.
