Same as with March Madness - skipped over any creative contingency plans straight to cancellation. Announced no fans and didn’t even try that after Gobert dragged his knuckles then tested positive.

We had 4 top-tier starters and the hitting had turned a corner after the OU loss. This team had Top8/Omaha potential

As much as baseball gets ragged on, this is still the case more often than not. Next year is going to be such a weird year for everyone with the scholarship situation completely out of control.

Did they? Not even trying to be a smart arse, because I honestly don’t remember.

Yes - now granted it was against inferior pitching but you could see the change in approach. They were patient both in terms of working the count and letting the ball travel.

It will take a couple of years for college sports to recover but take heart. They will be back!

My wife and I walked out after what turned out to be the final game of 2020 saying that it looked like they finally were turning around. Little did we know that the next day the whole world turned upside down.

Lsu baseball follows the same formula every year. We basically suck until it counts and then all of a sudden we’re loaded. Results at Omaha may vary.

The entire conference was absolutely stacked. I doubt we would have won it, but it would have been a very fun season in the SEC. I'm really excited to see how next year unfolds with so much talent being infused into all of college baseball. Hopefully we have a season

Florida, in the East and LSU in the West came out of the MLB draft in the best shape roster wise in the SEC. That doesn't mean that either is a shoo in for the conference championship, however. I just hope that we get to see it play out next spring.

That team wasn't going to even host a regional much less make to Omaha. Stop fooling yourself.

At the time I understand why the decisions were made and why the whole country needed to shut down for a couple weeks to figure this thing out.

The fact that it has drug out until July is the problem. We knew at the time that when we opened back up a spike was going to occur. That was the whole point of “flattening the curve”. The number of cases was never meant to change just spread out. The hospitals can handle more now than they could in March/April.

Now it’s time to protect the most at risk and let the rest of us decide if we want to risk the virus. If you are scared stay home and stay away from people. If you are not live your life. If they want to keep the mask mandate I’m even fine with that if it comes with allowing the country to start to go back by to normal.

How many times do y'all write the season off before it's over? Will you never learn?
We did not play one conference game this year. We did not play one conference game this year!

I seem to remember the season being over around the same time in '17.

Baseball team would have been .500 at best in SEC play..pitching looked good hitting looked horrible overall...
We need a new head coach and a new batting coach...untill this happens the tigers will continue as a mediocre team...

Mainieri needs to coach somewhere else. This virus has run its course.

When your 4 starters are Henry, Marceaux, Labas, and Hill anything is possible.

They did just fine. At the time there was too much unknown. Had those events been going on today they likely would have tried the contingency plans like the sports that are starting up now.
