Ensminger has always gone for the jugular early on and wanted to move towards passing. LSU did very well passing, but got stuffed in the run and couldn’t mix it up. Brady is fixing that weakness now.

I know Florida is a team that has the ponies to beat us on any given year, but I just can't see how they get the W over us this year.

Franks will have to torch our D in order to win.

Our opening drive was what we’ve seen so far this year. Then we stopped putting pressure on them. And really only had Jefferson.

Why is it that Franks and Mond look like Heisman candidates when they play LSU but stink against other good teams?

I just don't see it either. This is the most confident I've been against Florida since the early 2000s. I see a solid 14+ victory.

He might have wanted to go towards passing, but his lack of want (ISWIDT) to go for the jugular has frustrated me in the past.

The time to go for the jugular is 3rd qtr. Yes, sometimes the other team stops you. Sometimes you don't do it. But Q3 is the time. The opportunity for wholesale adjustments and extended rest just ended. You break their will in the 3rd qtr, you own the 4th.

We just saw an example of that. If we don't punt on the first drive of 2nd half followed by a 19 play 8+ min drive by tu that gassed our D for the remainder of the game (and that's my point... it set the tone for the rest of the game and almost won it for them) how much different would that 4th qtr have been.

Now, props to E (and Brady... they are one now, wonder twins have meshed rings and activated) for making up for it later by going for jugular when the opportunity presented itself, that won the game for us.

But think back last year how many 3rd quarters just absolutely sucked for us. The idea of balls to the wall destroy your opponent coming out of the locker room is new for us. We didn't have it last year, we didn't have it for many years prior. So the moral of the story is- keep doing it. You 'own the 3rd', you 'dominate the 4th'.

We had the early momentum with an opening drive TD and were in position to get another when the OL shite the bed and allowed UF to create a Burrow fumble. That game may have played out much differently had that not happened. It gave the Gators a boost.
As for "mix it up", I don't see that. We relying much more on the pass and have yet to see how well we can run the ball. I think that will have to improve as we get into SEC play. It's odd (but refreshing) to see LSU have a modern and efficient passing attack.
Brady has given a crafty Ensminger the tools to make the LSU offense exciting. LSU has always had playmakers, skill guys etc but they were handcuffed.

Our biggest issue in that game was Florida's speed off the edge. They killed our OTs. The current offensive design should negate that.

Defensively we struggled to stop the run. Franks can get rattled and I hope we don't play to "contain" him. Aranda needs to let the dogs loose. I don't care if the QB gets yardage running. You hit any QB enough and they will make mistakes.

It's a good offensive philosophy. Got to show the defense that you are willing to take shots every now and then so they have to respect it and can't just key in vs. the run. Unfortunately the blocking schemes weren't nearly as advanced (read: simple) as we've seen through 2 games this season.

I think everyone needs to slow their roll. Florida has a strong D line. A passing attack can be shut down easily with pressure on the quarterback. I'd like to continue to see the oline perform well before we crown them

Our offensive line will be fine. One of the reasons they look so much better is this offense. They're only required to hold up each pass play for 2-2.5 seconds. Our past offenses required them to block for 4 seconds. As long as Burrow can keep moving through his progressions rapidly to find the open man, they'll be just fine.

I think one potential obstacle is that they're going to be by far the best defense we've played up to that point. You could probably build an all-star defense from the first 5 teams' defenses and UF's would be better still. We converted a lot of crucial 3rd downs against Texas and those may not go our way against UF. I could see us going in expecting to score 35 or so and getting punched in the mouth and having some trouble adjusting. Granted, we had some success throwing the ball on them last year so I don't think that will happen, but that's one real possibility for us not winning this game

People may not like hearing this but the defensive strategy LSU used against Texas will probably beat Florida. Only rushing 4 containing the QB and making the him throw into tight coverage. Ehlinger was better than they thought and was able to make the throws. Franks is not and will not be able to make those throws.

Because they respected Franks, Mond and Ehlinger's running abilities too much. They were worried if they blitzed and they escaped, it would hurt them but they hurt us throwing also because they couldn't get pressure with 4.

We were dog shite coming out the half for most of the season. I'm guessing E wasn't quick on catching the adjustments.

So far so good though. It will take a strong defense to stop them this season.
