It makes NO sense to extend the contract of a Coach with a losing record and has had it several years. Unless you just don’t give a rip about basketball. If that’s the case, do away with the sport. LSU can be good in basketball.

Correct, there is no upside, financially or otherwise to keep him.

If woody was smart he’d be on the phone with WW’s agent right now before someone scoops him up

And if not WW, just about anyone would be better. Crap, get a good women’s Coach.

Bringing this clown back for another year with increased NIL has to be just a rumor.

His problem is he can’t recruit. I don’t think he can even with more NIL.

If anybody wanted to take McMahon...you should have let them...plus nobody else was going to take him or want him

McMahon is 14-40 in the SEC. LSU would never allow its football or baseball coach have that record, much less retain that coach for another season. McMahon has to go.

Never liked the idea of giving an uproven coach at this level a 7 year contract. Should have hired someone else on the cheap and seen what type of punishment might come before handing out such a long contract. I get it though. Many said he had to do this after firing Wade to appease the fan base.

I just don't like the idea of long contacts unless it's someone proven. They might as well have hired someone on the cheap, because once they fired Wade everybody left any ways. It wasn't going to be pretty year one. Then they could have seen what punishment might have come and possibly found a better coach to give a contract like that to. Then that coach wouldn't have to worry about any penalties.

When did LSU extend Matt McMahon?

They should let Mulkey go and spend that money on a men's basketball coach

He can't identify talent. He has two freshmen called Miller that he barely plays. Why wouldn't you play your most talented players that have a future hopefully with LSU? I can't understand not starting them and playing the entire game with them.....they might want to stay if they have a chance. He is inviting them to transfer, while he plays a bunch of older players that have proven they are not SEC caliber, but they get all the playing time. Makes zero sense. Fire the man.

Not arguing with you except to say that the contract is not being extended. It is just not being terminated early. Yet.

We need a BB coach that will bring excitement. It's like going to a funeral or watching a funeral on TV.

I think McMahon would be an excellent Funeral Director.

Basketball can be a ONE year turnaround sport. Will Wade went 8-10 and took a 2-16 team to the NIT and won the SEC at 16-2 in year 2.

Intead Diabetic Scott wants to waste another season.

Bro is so scared to have to hire a coach with Will Wade on the market and in his state.
