It's not about being friends, it's about being able to work together.

How is Ensminger a yes man? By all accounts, Orgeron doesn't want to be involved in the offense.

they had an article on the TD homepage quoting O saying the staff he has assembled has no problem saying yes to him when he wants something done

It’s obvious from that article Canada probably pitched a fit when O meddled in his offense. Ensminger will say yes.

It's clear you have no clue how a football staff works so I'll forgive your ignorance. Have a nice weekend!

Can you link this? I thought I read that too, but I can't find it now. I was definitely not a fan of that quote.

yea promoting a tight end coach that wasn’t a good OC to the same position is exactly how you run a staff.

Not getting the best candidate possible is Definately the way to go. Breaking promises is another terrific way to run a program. Canada was hired with O saying he’d let his assistants coach then to meddle like he did at ole miss is the way to run a program.

You are an idiot

Well tell that to O. He's the one that introduced Ensminger as a long time friend. He seems to really value friendship on the job.

Wait until they link the quote.

Paraphrasing, O said "I have all the confidence in the world that I can go in that room and tell that what needs to be fixed, and they're going to say "yes sir you're right." We're on the same page."

Y'all can continue to make dumb analogies with successful coaches all you want. It doesn't change the fact that O has no record of success to support giving him the benefit of the doubt. As a matter of fact, his record supports the opposite.

Of course he did it. Guess what? He got fired and so did his buddy. IMO, Cam was extremely handcuffed by Miles. I have a hard time believing an NFL head coach can't field a competent collegiate offense.

Here's the quote from the thread on the rant. I couldn't find the actual article.
quote:

I have no problem walking in there and saying, "Hey man, what are we doing here? This needs to be fixed." And I'm sure they have no problem saying, "Yes Sir, you're right." . . . But if I do see something I think is wrong, I have complete authority to go in there and say, "Hey, what are we doing? We need to fix this." And they're going to say, "Yes Sir, you're right." And that's how we work.

LINK to the thread

Eta: If we are going to be completely fair about the quote, Orgeron doesn't say that he's going to go in there with a solution and they're going to say "yes sir." He really just said that he can go in and say something needs to be fixed and IF he can stick to that, I really don't see that much of an issue.

Why did you capitalize this? More importantly, why did you misspell it? But whatever, Orgeron felt Ensminger was the best candidate after having him on his staff after he took over. I think he understands what's at stake.

Miles is gone sucka, get over it. It wasn't a mistake to fire Miles but was a mistake not to look for a coach that doesn't split the fanbase or one that is a proven winner.

You have NO CLUE what Miles would have done to end 2016. O beat Auburn and Miles couldn't do it with a weaker Auburn team. Fact is that the players are excited and now believe that this coach can get them to where we need to be to beat Bama and get to a playoff.

Miles routinely lost to Arky after Bama so would have likely lost that game last year and probably to OM also. His teams once down stayed down for that game and sometimes would pick it up the next week. His time has run dry. Almost everyone wanted Miles gone for years and it was a combination of many things not one loss here or there. His boring style of offense is one thing, his time management was another, him letting off the gas after beating the crap out of someone for a quarter what something else. His lack of talent at the QB/OL/DL/LB positions was something else that's got him canned. The fact that so many highly rated guys didn't pan out was something else that was a bit confusing to me.

We absolutely needed a culture change here and needed someone to replenish those positions above. Instead of coming up with a multiple attack with an accurate QB who made good decisions, he got athletic QBs who couldn't pass from under center and created a prostyle offense with them? With the RBs we've had recently, Les could have taken over the SEC if he had recruited the QB position differently, bigger LBers, a plethora of DLman with depth and landed some decent OTs.

That combo is what eventually got the better of Les. Otherwise he was a great coach lol.

I’m staying behind LSU.
Very different than getting behind the current HC.
