What’s the fastest way back to New Orleans? Go north towards the capitol and get on i10 east there? Or go south on river road and get on Nicholson somewhere down the line?

This is what I do. Very simple route. Now that's not including the clusterfrick that was this past weekend.

I would follow Highway 30 east all the way to Gonzales by the outlet mall. Go eat on I-10 there and you should be in New Orleans in about 45 minutes.

Only other option is river road south to 30 to I10. But I think river road gets contraflowed downtown

I went north and they had it flowing pretty good thru downtown
turn left after you pass through bridge and you can take north street back to I-10

I could have gone south as well all the way to the casino but I didn't chance it, it's been hit or miss the times I've gone south

Go north on river road, under the bridge and then drive up to the 110 onramp. That is probably your fastest route.

South on River Rd. to LA-74 in St. Gabriel. The LA-30 to I-10 in Gonzales. I-10 to New Orleans.

Should be by far the quickest way.

If you park in the lots further away from the vet school, they will make you go left on river road which you can take to Brightside and then cut over the Burbank or Highland Road which will take you right to I-10. You just need to be on the correct side when parking or they will send you towards downtown which is in the wrong direction.

Confused by this map but it looks like you can turn left onto River Road. Contra doesn't start on RR until after Skip Bertman

I have always gone south on River Road, to Nicholson, down to I10. Has always worked well, although I understand there were big problems on River Road last Saturday. Never have looked into the other way.

For years you haven’t been able to turn left on RR from 407. But all you have to do is drive into 412 1 lot down river and you have always been able to turn left from there. I wasn’t there Saturday and don’t know what the situation was then.

You can turn left off Skip Bertman and go south on River Road. Once you pass Brightside, it’s pretty smooth sailing to Lauberge. I can’t tell you which way to get back to NOLA is faster but. Like I said, RR traffic moves quickly past Brightside.

Throw everything out window
They’ll change everything for this sat and likely choke any normal route and you won’t know which way to go

Have parked there for years, go north to downtown and stay along River past old capital building then take a right on Florida. This will lead you to the on ramp for 110 south where you merge to I 10.
