If you believe BK won’t win a championship at LSU within 3 years

Then you think he’s a worse coach than both Miles and Orgeron.

BK knows what he is doing.

Just imagine if this board kept the offseason positivity year round.

3 years is tough to do

Not all situations are equal. But BK doing it wouldn’t be shocking.

Miles took over a 9-4 squad with elite talent. Orgeron inherited similar, but left BK with a depleted roster and losing culture. Regardless, I think BK will win it in his 3rd year with Walker Howard as a RS sophomore.

4 years is more realistic. The game is much different and more fluid now than during the Les and O regimes. NIL and transfer portal have changed everything.

Then you think LSU has managed to move NIL like a weapon against its SEC-W NIL nemeses.

Losing culture? We still have some guys from the greatest team ever. That’s a little strong. We did go to a bowl game and qualified the year we self imposed a ban. That’s disappointing but not a losing culture like we’re temple or some shit

To be fair, NIL and the portal should make championship windows quicker, not longer.

Jordan Jefferson doesn't start 3 years at QB if transfers could immediately come in and play.

Agreed. It can totally work both ways.

The majority of this group will give up on BK with our first 3 and out.

I fully expect to be back in the picture in 3 years. It will come down to who wins us or bama in the west. Once the mega conferences take full effect and playoffs get expanded o see us in a lot.

nah

I think he's a better coach than both.

I'm not convinced he will be able to bring in as much talent as either (the landscape is changing).

I'd definitely bet against a championship within 3 years. That's an absurdly high bar. Only those that don't respect what it takes would think that's a reasonable expectation.

Very valid. I’d add that neither had access to portal like BK does now, so a run sooner is more likely, IMO

So? The core of that team (Aranda, Burrow, CEH, Chase, Jefferson, Moss, Delpit, Fulton, Lawrence, etc.) are long gone. Players were struggling with BK when he first arrived because he instituted basic accountability measures to ensure players show up to their workouts. That’s the product of a toxic, losing culture.

There’s a reason BK cleaned house. The sophomores have never been above .500, never really played for a packed, raucous Death Valley. The excitement behind the program fell to a 20 year low. Boutte said it’s nice to have guys from ULL transfer in because they come from a “winning culture,” and that he’s never experienced consistent success at the college level. Somehow Coach O managed to quite literally sink the ship and set the program back multiple years.

I agree he is a better coach than Les and Orgeron but he better lockdown the state as well as they did if he wants the same results

This is fricking idiotic

You can't compare the situations

O stepped into a situation where the team was going 8-4 or better multiple seasons in a row

Kelly stepped into the shite show that was 11-12 over two years

To make the statement you made tells me you have absolutely ZERO objective analysis skills.

Both Miles and O had significantly superior rosters when they took over than what BK does now. You can't just look at the number of years and make such a broad conclusion, ignoring the underlying variables.

Like BK signing a likely top 5 class in his first year after two .500 seasons?

I think there's a lot more at play here than just making a blanket statement like that. The environment of the NCAA is changing with things like NIL and super conferences. It's going to be much harder to win a NC with the change in environment. You have Texas and OU coming into the conference and no telling who else in the future. SEC is already brutal and with 2 universities with their resources they'll eventually adapt to SEC making it even more brutal. There's already a balance shift happening due to NIL and super conferences so a lot if uncertain. This roster was also gutted unlike when O took over it was ripe. If Notre Dame somehow made their way into SEC conference(I don't think it's happening) then all bets are off. There will be no reason soon to play OOC with the power shift and brutal schedule.

It's not saying he can't coach better than them. It's saying there's factors working against him that he can't control. The sport is evolving right now and it's nothing like what Orgeron/Miles had to deal with. I can see a fair argument you can put together a roster fast with NIL/transfer portal but the problem here is chemistry that's probably the most underrated aspect of a roster. 3 years is a little too optimistic, imo.
