Reid may have to come off the bench by sheer necessity. He doesn’t help us if he fouls out so fast or has to play scared because he’s in foul trouble.

He is NOT a Center.
We don't need a damn Center. Both O'Neal and Fudge are forwards, not wings. Fudge has a much higher motor than Reid, and that's what we need.
O'Neal is a Forward. Fudge is a Wing with the versatility to cover all positions 1-5.
Offensively, when Reid leaves the game the big man positions are next to irrelevant. The guy WW wants in the pick and roll will come from the spot whether it could be called a 4 or a 5.
Notice we are getting the ball in Eason's hands above free throw line extended giving him the chance to shoot 3/dribble drive instead of posting him lower like we would try to do with Reid or someone playing Center.

People. Fudge is a freshman
quote:Call me whacky but I'm pretty sure the General has a good grasp on what he's doing with Reid's development/PT. The more we can play him now the more improvement we should see by Tournament time.
And Reid is a Freshman Center, who isn't getting it done right now. He needs more time to develop. You can't keep giving him 20 minutes a game. In half the game, he's fouling out...and we're putting the other team in Bonus because of it.

Unfortunately would have to agree. Eason is better in every aspect of the game, Shareef provides energy and underrated touch on offense with capable defense, fudge is excellent defensively with not much offensively skill. If Wade wants to keep Eason on the bench for whatever reason then he should start Shareef or use fudge as a small ball 5.
Efton has not adjusted to how fast the college game is played. However I think he could still develop into an above average player. You need to remember he’s halfway through his freshman year. Skylar Mays looked like he didn’t belong in division 1 his freshman year and developed into an NBA player.
But for this year it’s clear that he’s the weakest link on the team and should not be starting.

There have been plenty opponents Wade could experiment with, in regards to PT, and give Reid the opportunity to bang down low. In conference play, you cannot leave him in the game to boost your team fouls. Lack of contribution + foul trouble isn't going to cut it - it's detrimental to the teams success. Wade will make adjustments. You can't simply chalk this up to "development."
ETA: Again, I'm not suggesting benching Reid entirely...but his minutes have to be chopped. If we're talking development, then other guys need more PT for development. Strengthen the depth.

Bumping my thread from a week ago where a lot of people in here blasted. I called these changes last week Wade should have made to shake up the lineup.
