Why not go with the guy who will be in your program longer? Imagine how good he could be by the time he is a Junior. Myles is a 4th year junior and even if you think he's slightly better than the 18 year old, we should all be able to agree TJ has the higher ceiling. I just dont see any great arguments against going with Finley. He had a better first game than Myles and is 4 years younger. Lets see him take the next step against Auburn. If he even improves a little bit than he should start against Bama with a compromised Brennan available in emergency backup duty.

IF they are even, it says something to go with the guy who’s stuck it out to get his chance. All things being even.

Its about winning, not worrying about hurting a kids feelings.

Using that mindset, will Nuss potentially start next year? Howard the next?

They’re not even.

You guys are just being dumbasses. TJ’s accuracy is too inconsistent, even on the short passes. TJ had a running game. TJ didn’t have near as many dropped passes. There was an extra 2 week break for people to figure more shite out.

And like someone else said, if all things are equal, why would you snub a dude who waited patiently for years then started, played lights out and even played a whole half injured because he didn’t want to let his team down. Just sad how many people wanna turn their back on Myles.

If they’re even, winning isn’t the question since being even gives us the same chances at wining, this going with the elder maybe hurts the feelings of the freshman? I don’t care about feelings. It’s a silly question Because who is ever really even?

I will NEVER understand how people can say this! This isn’t playground ball, this is major D1 college ball and a lot of y’all are worried about hurting someone’s feelings and making sure the coach looks good like a “good guy” Les Miles was a “good guy” look where that got him! The best players should play, regardless if you’ve been here for 3 months or 3 years!

He completed 80% of his passes and the reason for less drops was that his timing and ball placement in stride were much better than Brennan’s

Again, I don’t give two shits about feelings. The silly hypothetical says IF they are even....... the winning chances remain the same. So even if they are even, go with experience for now. It’s a good problem to have 2 good qb’s finally.

I think it's time for a 2 QB system. Everyone knows Myles is injury prone and will not run. With TJ, all bets are off. Give Myles the start position, give TJ some RPO schemes.

Or because the receivers have dropped less passes the more games they've played.

Also probably helps that we didnt throw 50 times last night.

This. Do you think nick saban gave two shits about the optics of pulling jalen hurts for a true freshman in the second half if a national championship game?

With that said, I’m not sure Finley is better than Brennan at this point. He looked very good last night, but it’s one game. It should be an open competition and the coaches should play the best player regardless of classification or hurting anyone’s feelings, whether that player is Brennan, Finley, or Johnson.

LSU's OL completely beat the hell out of the USCe front 7.

Finley looked great no doubt, Johnson looked pretty good in mop up. Both of their OL's were in complete control.

You're gonna beat up Finley to get 3 YPC?

I like this idea. TJ looked sharp but hasn’t thrown over the middle to the same extent Myles has. Doesn’t mean he can’t or won’t, just that he hasn’t.

TJ hasn’t played when they are behind or the defense is struggling. Until I see how TJ responds in that situation I’m rolling with Myles.

Having 2 outstanding QBS to choose from at LSU is unprecedented and incredibly refreshing. Count your blessings

Apples and oranges. Brennan can throw it downfield. TJ has the arm, not the accuracy.

TJ is more physically talented. He is also less polished.
Perfect example is the pick he threw.

The WR and the CB were in stride.
The CB was looking back at the QB.
When that happens the correct read for the WR is to get past the CB and the QB has to throw it over.
The WR made the correct read. TJ did not.
He threw the back shoulder pass which should only happen if the CB has his back to the QB.

That’s not what the OP said. He said everything about even.
