If the improbable were to happen and we somehow make it to Omaha…

Do we even have the pitching to battle through a double elim?
If I remember correctly LSU has struggled in the past even having enough starting pitching through the first game or two.
In just a regional we seem to be about out of options. Just curious.

hopefully we've seen some arms develop that can be counted on whether it's for a run this season for for next year and beyond. Edwards and Coleman were really impressive.

You have to win and stay out of the losers bracket. And even then, it’s still tough on the pitching staff.

And I thought your Money Talk threads were dumb...

We've demonstrated plenty of capable arms so far this weekend. Whether they remain as good as they've been will be the question.

...it will be a great run and a great turnaround from where the SEC season started.
Omaha is always tough to win, but we'll have shown we have enough to come out of a losers bracket with a win tonight.

Each bracket at cws has 4 teams so It would be similar to a 4 team regional bracket. The team that wins its first two games is in the drivers seat, the games are spread out. The difference is that if you make the championship game that is a best of three series.
I hope this helps.

It's the exact same format as the regional. If we can survive this weekend, we would have a shot in Omaha. The difference is, all the regional games are played in back to back days. In Omaha they are spaced out a little more. This allows some of your relievers to get more rest.

3 wins and you are in the Championship Series. Thats staying out of the Losers bracket.

If you get to the end, everyone is out of pitching. You are in better shape if you win the first and your ace does his job and goes long. But other than that most teams are putting it together the best they can.

This is one of those years that 0-2 in Omaha would be a great outcome IMO.

Going to Omaha would be amazing and whatever happened there would be house money.

Actually the Championship series is a week later. So if your 3 staters pitched the first three games they would have a weeks rest and be able to go for the Championship series.

Yes it is but remember all the other teams are in the same boat. Several teams have two good starters, a couple average pitchers and then a bunch of crap. I think we are deeper then most.

Starters have given up 12 of 13 runs so far.

The CWS bracket is less taxing then the regionals.
We are playing 5 games in 4 days in the regionals. In the CWS, you play a game every other day for the first two games.
If we are in Bracket 1, we play Sat and Mon. If we are 2-0, we don't play again until Friday. If we are 1-1, we would play on Wed, and if we win, again Friday.
If we are in Bracket 2, we play Sun and Tues. If we are 2-0, we don't play again until Friday. If we are 1-1, we would play on Thurs, and if we win, again on Friday.
So our first three games are spread over 5 days.
If we play the if necessary game, it would be Saturday, and then the Champ series is the following Mon - Wed.
So at most, you are looking at 5 games over 7 or 8 days, and then 3 games more over 3 more days.
If you can go 3-0, then you get your first two starters for Game 1 and Game 2 of the champ series. If you have to play Game 3 of the champ series, then you are pitching a guy on Wed (say labas for us) that pitched the previous Wed. That would be short rest. But, it's the last game of the season.

If, and it's a big IF, the Tigers can win tonight, they could easily take on Tennessee and make it to Omaha!
