If Nuss would have played in the Bowl game...

and fought hard, how many of you would be pulling for him instead of assuming he will transfer?

That was his moment to capture the respect of the Tiger fans. Sacrificing a personal future year of eligibility to go rep LSU in a tough situation, would have made a difference in my opinion.

Who knows how that could have changed things and viewpoints now.

I still hope the kid is a success here at LSU, but as I sit here on the toilet this morning, that thought of what if he played came to mind.

I think if he had not just tried to throw a long TD every pass play, people would have a different opinion of his ability on the field. People's opinions are based on how he actually played in limited time.

With some real coaching, he should move beyond that. And then we'll see.

Wouldn’t have lost to Arkansas if O didn’t force him onto the field that game.

Change my mind.

I wanted to see him play as well just like everyone else. The funny thing is there is a possibility that Nuss will be very needed one day and that eligibility might actually be very important for us. Never know how its all gonna work out. I think every one that craps on him for that decision needs to get a life.

Anybody who thinks Nuss should have sacrificed an entire year of eligibility to play in a game that meant absolutely nothing, where we could barely field a team, is a selfish SOB.

Just like anybody thinking he should transfer, or he sucks, because of that is a complete moron.

Nuss definitely had an opportunity that he passed upon.

That's something he will have to live with. LSU went out and got help.

I don’t think he should have played because I’m selfish, I think he needed that experience as a leg up in the quarterback battle this spring. Let’s face it, he is not going to be the starting quarterback here for four years. If he is that good, he will turn pro before his eligibility expires. If he isn’t good enough to start here, he will transfer and would have still had three years eligibility.

His best opportunity to be the starter at LSU was if he had gained experience by practicing for and playing in that bowl game.

Redshirt years don't matter anymore. No kid is staying 5 years if he's any good.

Nuss gave up a shot. That's on him.

So, in your mind, all the difference in the world as to whether Nuss has a good college career or not is based on playing/not playing in that one game?

Your argument about practice is negated by the fact that he actually practiced during that time. So all he really missed was playing in the bowl game.

Tell that to Brennan and Burrow.

Both were here long before transfer protocol rules changes and NIL.

The idea of redshirting is been made irrelevant.

Transfer rules and NIL have absolutely zero to do with what you said.

"No good QB is staying 5 years," is what you said. NIL and transfers have nothing to do with that. The greatest QB in LSU history did it in his fifth year.

Youre still super dumb in addition to being a liar. NIL and the transfer rules created sports easiest free agency. Redshirting is dumb unless you have superstars lined up. We played a fricking wide receiver at QB.

Nuss isn't redshirting for LSU. He had an opportunity to step to the front of the line and passed on it.

Shooters shoot. He ran home.like a bitch and quit on his team. Sorry bowl conditions weren't perfect for him to have great stats, but that's life. He had a chance to be a leader, a teammates, and a guy you want in that foxhole.

It was his 1 shot. Think about it. Taking that shot and excelling would have kept Brennan running for the hills, and Daniels wouldn't have come.
He fricked himself and now will NEVER EVER be the leader or starter on the LSU football team.
HES DONE!
He can stay if he wants..he definitely need someone to signal plays into Walker

God came down and handed the guy what he had long dreamed about...and he said, no thanks God, the timing isn't perfect for me.

Bye kid

Don’t worry. As soon as he is named a backup he will become the best QB ever.

I imagine his dad was pushing him to value his eligibility

But i would’ve personally been screaming to play, especially knowing Johnson was out, Brennan coming off injury and another blue chip QB coming in.

He needs to tell dad to frick off, its not 1990 anymore.

He had an incredible opportunity and turned it down. I really can't fathom it.
