If nothing else, I believe what Steve E says he’s going to try to do.

I don’t know if it’s going to work out, but everything he says he’s going to do I believe he’s going to TRY his hardest to make that happen. Am I sold? Hell no! Am I at least sold on his sincerity and work ethic? Yes.

God I hope this works.

Basically says we have to put 3 or 4 receivers on the field, we have to run more RPO’s, and we have to throw it over their heads. He said all the things fans wanted to hear...now let’s see if he gets it done.

ETA: says the receivers are the strength of this team right now.

I missed the question to which he answered with an emphatic “bullshite,” but that was fun.

I think Ensminger has O's trust more so than Canada ever did. O may meddle less with Ensminger running the offense. Orgeron may just have the mindset that Ensminger is doing with he wants done and will let him be. I think Ensminger was a wise choice for O. Orgeron still sucks as a head coach but Ensminger can be a good enough coordinator especially with Aranda on the other side of the ball.

Clearly shows that he loves the University and it's a dream job for him. He teared up a few times. Wish him the nothing but the best, but not sold on the hire. Hope I'm wrong.

I’ve never doubted SE as far as effort goes. He will do whatever he can to help LSU win. My concern is where his ceiling lies amongst other successful OC’s in CFB. If he does his absolute best job he can, is that a 70th ranked offense? Maybe 50th? Or lower? I don’t know.

The bigger issue is that O promised the best coordinators in CFB, staked his reputation on it to get the LSU job. He inherited Aranda, as Miles drew Dave to LSU. He hired Canada, and couldn’t get along with him. Then promotes the TE coach. What does that say about O’s actual control over a major college football program?

He was answering a question T-Bob asked related to hearing criticism. He basically said "some people said all coaches read the paper. bullshite... I haven't read the paper in 20 years."

Who the heck down voted the OP? Why would anyone not want the new OC to be successful or at least TRY to be successful?

If there is nothing else to say about this....he is passionate about it.

I hope that is enough to pull it through.

True. Just hope it's not coach-speak. Steve by all accounts is a genuine good guy so I believe he'll give max effort.

At this point, I don't believe anything I hear/see about the football program. His hiring was O-directed so there's the first frick up.

Cliff notes if you don't mind?

I was encouraged by SE's remarks. Fingers crossed.

I hope he does well. I hope he gets our QB and our offense rolling next year.

3-4 WR sets
Being balanced out of every personnel grouping
RPO driven offense
Strength of O is WRs
