If LSU and Mississippi State both win this weekend, does State get the better bowl game?

What bowl would we be projected to be in if 4 SEC teams are ranked ahead of us.

They're all pretty much the same after the #3 SEC bowl right?

I'm less worried about the prestige of the bowl than I am a good match up.

Not always #3 because more teams can make NY6. Citrus can pick their own team and they won't take LSU again since they v took them last year.

Remind me how we did in the Citrus bowl last year

LSU travels far better than State does so that will likely play a larger factor in bowl assignments than ranking.

We will be the #2 team in the West (3rd overall in SEC) if we win and Auburn loses. If we win and despite what Auburn or Miss St does the Bulldogs will be 4th place in the West.

I'm not sure if the bowls are tied to specific SEC finish or just to the conference. It used to be based on conference standing but I think they have more leeway now.

I think Auburn still gets a better bowl regardless. Miss St would be a toss up. We travel better.

Yes they should but it will depends on if AU beats Bama and Bama still makes the playoff... two teams from the SEC in the playoffs opens up better bowl games for the next three teams.....

If the Citrus can somehow lineup A LSU/ Michigan matchup, they would do it in a heartbeat....

I think that's ideal. I don't like many of the other options as far as team. Now if Michigan beats Ohio St this weekend then Ohio St may be in the mix. That would be a good game.

It’s cute how y’all think any of these bowls give a fuch about merit. LSU will get the better bowl due 100% to revenue output.

State wins the enthusiasm gap, so they are probably more coveted by the second tier bowls.

You do know we have a 2-game home and home series with them in 2019 & 2020?

The Citrus Bowl gets their selection of SEC schools after the NY6 bowl teams. After that, the SEC office selects the matchups. So the short answer is, we don't know yet, and won't until even after the SECCG and the playoff/NY6/Citrus fallout.

Miss St will then have 3 SEC losses and LSU only two.

This. I won't want to play a shitty FSU or Texas.

bullshite. That was true ten years ago but not anymore. The last time the LSU fanbase sold their full ticket allotment was the Texas Bowl vs Texas Tech. And that only happened because the game is in Houston.
LSU fans now have a reputation of not showing up to bowl games.

LSU won't be in a Florida bowl. Look for LSU to head to Houston once again for the Texas Bowl vs Texas.

What impact on recruiting would playing / beating either of these teams have?
Would it matter?
